As long as he skates well he will have nothing to regret. Nobody has base value close to Ilia's, and everyone knows that. If Japan doesn't win the gold it will be because they are not competitive in dance, that's all.

One skater doesn’t lose a certain medal for a team and it’s really unfair to put such a burden on one skater.

I've done some math and Nika needs to get 3rd or higher for Georgia to get a medal, and Rizzo would need to get 5th (or 4th if Nika gets second), otherwise Italy gets the bronze. And I think Ilia and Shun determines who gets the gold and silver between US and Japan.

It's certainly possible, but it relies on Stephen going in between Nika and Matteo.
