@NoNameFace is the true star of these competitions. Her crowns are a status symbol among the skaters.
...I don't know even what to say. I'm extremely flattered. Humbled. Grateful.
But skaters are the only stars there - despite some voices/opinions I've encountered that what I do is self-serving & ego-fueled (while I'm embarrassed to show face and have any attention on me, never ask for photos), my crafts are form of gratitude to skaters and their craft. My gifts always have skaters in the center of this whole endeavour. This sport can be very unjust and demanding, with only 3 medals, so I want them to feel appreciated, seen, cherished.

They have just been crowned Junior World Champions, and even now, they are still not wearing their flower crowns. 🌻 👑

They haven't even opened them!

Very disappointed. 😞

After all the hard work @NoNameFace put into making them, she deserves better than this.

Maybe they wanted to bring them home safely. They have had other crowns before which they were if I recall

I had several skaters in my house one time, mostly pair and ice dance boys (seniors and juniors) who have been to JGPs and Junior Worlds. The crown you gave to my kid is displayed in our foyer, and I was thinking of putting something else on that wall. And I got a chorus of "nooo! don't remove that" and they talked about where they put your crown in their homes. My kid is not at the Worlds this time but a boy who lives in our house is competing, and he has already gotten crowns from you in his JGP competitions; and yes, it is displayed in his room.

So thank you for your crowns. I saw you in one JGP competition where you were rushing to finish the crowns as the event was happening. The kids really appreciate it - even if they do not wear it at the event.

Now that you mention that, it does sound plausible.

However, I wound back the stream to when they were given the crowns, and they didn't look interested in them then. No interaction with NNF; they just lifted them and went on their way without even looking at them. Contrast that to how happy the other two partnerships that received crowns were to have got some.

Maybe they were just having a bad day and weren't in the mood for pleasantries. Or were too pre-occupied about whether they had done enough to jump the other Canadian partnership.

Whatever the case, it didn't look good.

PS. yours truly got approached during Pairs VC by volunteer/member of local media to do an interview/feature for the media about my crowns. Apparently, people were wondering about it, asking if I was someone linked to feds/organisers etc. And the person told me what I do inspires them and is important.
I'm quite overwhelmed and it was just my 1st day

You deserve it, they have become a part of the celebrations and the skaters clearly appreciate them and how personal they are as gifts.

They had a rough skate. They were going for gold. Their mind was most likely still in 🫨. I didn't think it's fair to assume that they aren't grateful based on that. Just my opinion.

I really do not blame anyone, heck, I'd probably react worse knowing myself.
They had crowns put down next to them while watching D/T skating FS and they've took them once the results were known. I've done my part (gifting) and I just have zero control over what skaters do with them (someone last year, totally unprovoked, informed me via Twitter though that apparently my crowns/crafts are landing in the trash "after banquets"...I just want to focus on appreciating skaters. If they throw them out, so be it).

I'm totally with you on this .

I doubt they throw the crowns away. I have read that many skaters are so happy to get them.

And they may not be as familiar with the gift of the crowns and didn't really notice in the confusion, with their minds still whirling back over what they'd just done, what they were being given or what they were expected to do with them. I'm sure someone clued them in later about what an honour the crowns were.

It's too bad the top teams didn't skate well in the fp. Herrera/Khobta had the cleanest fp of the top group, but not having advanced throws didn't allow them enough points to compete for the top spot. They are obviously still working on triple pairs elements with Hannah having switched from singles to pairs about a year ago. I really enjoyed both of their programs. They are an exciting team to watch.

Kemp/ Elizarov have a lovely fp and they have skated it clean before, so it's too bad for their two mistakes. But otherwise, it's a deserved win for them overall. After Guo/ Zhang faltered so badly in the fp right after performing their boffo quad twist, I thought the Canadian teams might be more energized to skate well. It was their advanced elements, sophisticated programs, and point advantages in the sp that helped the top Canadian teams. Jazmine/ Kieran are stunning together physically and they have good programs, but Jazmine needs to conquer her tech issues. Nice for them skating clean in the sp. I would guess both top Canadian teams are moving permanently to seniors next season, though Jazmine/ Kieran will be junior eligible for another season.

Too bad that Olivia Flores was ill and didn't skate well. In any case, the judges more recently have not given Flores/ Wang a lot of credit for what they are good at when they do skate better. Had Flores/ Wang skated as well as they did at U.S. Nats, they might have been able to take advantage of the mistakes made by the top teams. In any case, F/W won a silver at junior Worlds a few years ago, the season that the senior Georgian team competed junior to grab medals and experience as new partners.

There are some nice young pairings, including the Swiss, Slovakian, and Spanish teams, along with the French team, Telemaque/Colon, who had a breakthrough a couple of seasons ago, but have recently been experiencing growing pains. Quattrocchi/ Lacasse of Canada are also a promising pair. Moss/Galbavy of the U.S. always look like they are enjoying themselves. I also like the British team, Davison/ Borisov, but they still have a lot to work on, as do many of these young teams.

With the two young Chinese teams possessing such amazing elements, as they continue to grow and gain experience, they will seemingly be capable of dominating junior (and eventually senior) podiums in coming seasons.

The good thing for the U.S. pairs discipline is that the 5th place finish by Flores/ Wang and 7th place finish by Moss/ Galbavy will secure 3 U.S. pairs spots at junior Worlds next season, possibly to be assigned to Moss/ Galbavy; Jarmoc/ Witkowski; and Kovar/ McPike (if these teams continue on their current promising pace).

it was pointed out by @NoNameFace that indeed, they had no idea they were made by hand etc.. and were very grateful

what really hurt their score though is popping their triple jump into a single.

sometimes, knowing that your main competitor faltered freezes you... sometimes you feel like you ought to win and added pressure comes into play... sometimes you feel that you may also falter and skate without the usual confidence. it's not always a given that a bad performance will bring a better energy.. as a matter of fact, it's sometimes the opposite. when people skate really well, there is often a tendency to raise focus among competitors and they do better.

not permanently.
Ava and Yoni hinted at Seniors GPs with JWC.
Jazzy and Kiki will most likely remain juniors internationally. Neither of them has ever landed a triple jump in competition. The throws are a work in progress but there is clear improvement on them and they learned the lutz this year (SP requirements). But though their presentation is senior their tech content needs some developing.

I haven't seen them skate very well in a while. Granted I don't watch all their events, but yeah. I am not sure I like them in this partnership. I'd prefer it if they split and came back with other partners. Just my opinion, I am pretty aware from your posts that you would disagree with this and that's fine :)

Quatrochi Lacasse will remain juniors. They are a new team. They want to include some more advanced elements next year.

I can see many medals for China in the next coming years. They have 3-4 great junior teams. Some have great SBS jumps and some very high level pair elements... It will be interesting to see who will develop the aspects that are weaker and become fully rounded pair skaters among this crew of extremely promising Chinese juniors. They are very young as well and will skate juniors for many years.
US did well spots wise.

Yes, I agree with everything you have said. Thanks for the info on Ava/Yoni and Jaz/Kik's plans for next season. Maybe J&K should consider doing a pairs workshop in the U.S. or in Europe over the summer. For sure, they have a more mature presentation but lack advanced tech skills. At least, they are close in age and experience and beautifully well-matched. It will be interesting to see their progress over the next two years. Something needs to shift so they can advance to mastering the needed tech skills. They could also further enhance and polish their aesthetics.

Definitely, Hannah's popped jump cost H/K points. Had they landed it with reasonable GOE, though, based on the math, the most they would have gotten is the silver medal. Ava/Yoni won with 167.90 overall. H/K were 2nd in the fp, but their overall score was 160.15. Without the pop on the salchow, H/K maybe could have finished around 164.75 to 164.90 or so. As it is, after J/K's mistakes, I thought H/K might still squeak in for a silver despite Hannah's popped salchow. H/K certainly look good together. I'm happy for them. J/K finished 162.25 overall.

Regarding Flores/ Wang, I actually agree that they may fare better if they can find better suited partners. Olivia might benefit from partnering with a skilled, taller partner. The question is whether or not something's in the works bts.

Early in the season, Luke suffered a hand injury, which impacted their training and competitive results. They skated very well at '26 U.S. Nats. But yeah, there may be some growing pains that have begun to hamper Olivia/ Luke's development together. If a switch is planned, hopefully it will be announced soon after senior Worlds, when we will be hearing about other changes and skater retirements, too.
