2024-26 Italian Figure Skating

Although I have a preference, I understand the reasoning. They are just too close in points for comfort. Whether you take step sequences into account or not.

Italian Fed as Americans: "We don't like how close the Super Bowl score is right now, so we're going to add on another quarter for the hell of it to see if the score can widen."

I do not take them seriously at this point.

If Memola had taken part in National Championships, I would have objected to not following the internal ranking even if the gap had been only a few points.
However, right now, Rizzo's ranking is computed using 2 national events (Nationals and 1st stage of Elite Championship Series) and 1 international (Nepela Memorial) while Memola's ranking points are based on 1 national panel (1st stage of Elite Championship Series) and 2 Internationals (Lombardia Trophy and Skate Canada).
So I can see wanting a further event as 2 points gap may be due to benefiting from national panels of judges in more competition.

Has there being any information about why Conti/Macii WD? Is it just to save themselves for the Olympics?

I read that Sara has an injury....

It's in Italian, but with google translate you will find the following piece of text:

The Italian team, which has won a total of 11 medals in the three editions of the European Championships held so far during the current four-year Olympic period , will arrive in Sheffield with the ambition of playing a leading role despite the absence of the artistic pair Sara Conti/Niccolò Macii (Fiamme Oro), due to a physical injury suffered by Conti.

What has happened to Noemi Tali and Noah Lafornara? I seem to remember that they were given a GP assignment, but they ultimately did not take it. Is Italy likely to have an ice dance team on the GP next season?

Post-Olympics interview with Charlene and Marco. I was sure they'd retire after the season, but apparently they're not sure yet

Sports Ru reported that Charlene and Marco were skipping Worlds to focus on the next season.
If it is indeed true, then all hail the Golden Waltz for them

Why would they continue they are a lot closing to 40 then 30 and have been losing ground for a couple of seasons and it won't get better at their age. The judges probably like the fans want to see some new blood on the podium and are just waiting to move a team like Z/K ahead of them and there are other younger teams that are hungry too that the judges will want to move up.

considering how difficult Gabriele's season was, I was worried for my Frangipani. It's been in dormancy since October. Today, new growth showed up... It survived !!!!! Let's hope it blooms this summer... and let's hope Gabriele comes back stronger next fall too :)
