That was a rough skate. I wonder how much notice they had that they would be competing.

They had very little notice after Kam/O’Shea withdrew and I’m sure they had not been training like they were going to Worlds after the Olympics since they were not initially named to the team.

A lot of elements with high GOEs from Nagaoka/Moriguchi and they had such great flow all the way throughout. That 3Lo-2A-2A sequence was something else. They're gonna finish much higher than last year at Worlds.

Great performance by Nagaoka and Moriguchi, they can even medal with it. The jump combo was just gorgeous.

YES! My favorite free skate in the discipline and that was the best they could have done. Best SBS in the competition and the transitions are beautiful. This is just a wonderfully choreographed program. Well done Japan!

Well, instrumental with a bit of wailing thrown in that could be done without.

Yuna is wearing a deep pink dress. Sumitada is wearing a brown top and black trousers.

On the whole it was beautiful. But that wailing did really spoil it.

They've been crowned!

Go on, one of you put your crown on Fedor, just for @LadyB!

They go into the lead of both the FS and overall.
