2026 World Figure Skating Championships | Rhythm Dance

My skating crushes are coming thick and fast. Except this time she is on the ice!

Phebe BEKKER / James HERNANDEZ (GBR) doing a George Michael medley.

I have given up trying to describe Phebe's dress! It's impossible to do! James is wearing a black top, black leather waistcoat, and black trousers.

They were brilliant!!! As always! ;)

They go into 2nd position.

Phebe isn't happy with the score. But she then joins the others in smiling.

By the end of next season, I think the Golden Waltz will be very good for developing the dance skills for many of these teams. At the beginning, I think we are going to have a big reset in the rankings as the abilities are reassessed more on their skating and less on their interpretation of vague musical themes. It could be a rough ride for these teams. I hope the fans will be kind to those who struggle a bit.

ISU YouTube stream is working with my VPN today. Using South American server.
I am having trouble with my vpn today and the ISU feed. It feels like a block, happened after I updated the rewatches. I am in YT timeout somehow???

I hope so—but it will depend on how those dances are assessed and judged. If we are going to continue basing our decisions and rankings on “vibe,” the presence of a pattern might not help as much as we would hope

I hope it will not be by vibe, but by overall skating. I also hope it won't go the other extreme of obsession with extreme cleanliness. I already lived that era decades back and it was demoralizing for the fans and skaters.

I think if they learn proper partnering, musicality, proper technique on edges and turns without nitpickiness, then I will be satisfied.
