For me, the skate of the day is Yuma Kagiyama. What a brilliant program!

Can't really argue with the podium even if the specific scores were a bit questionable. The top three were all basically clean and my baby Shun got level 4s on all his spins! Predictable result in the end but some great skates!

Adversity has given Ilia the depth needed to bring his artistic vision to fruition. When he speaks It is something but not nothing, it has a gravitas that it did not have before. His Olympic loss made this performance resonate so much more as a triumph over adversity and as another voiceover states that pulling on a thread from the past will lead you home. Truly a unique experience to glimpse into the challenges he faces. It is a tale of a journey, but not an ending.

I know Yuma is getting a silver but it's so much more special when you skate your best. He won the free in my heart.

Agreed; I'm delighted for Ilia but IMO Yuma is a much more complete skater.

I thought Stephen did really well, especially following Yuma. For sure there will be some Grand prix medals next season if he keeps it up. Great news for Canada

There was one this season already but the difference this year is that he will be seeded.

Wow, a lot of strange, unfortunate things had to happen for USA’s 3 spots; namely, the meltdowns of Nika Egadze and Kao Miura. No wonder Malinin feels so much immense weight and expectations from the USFSA.

Brilliant jumps from Ilia. Whew, he is just a machine the way he cranks them out. Thank you for not doing the 4 Lo and the 4A!!! Strategize! Never got used to the voiceovers, but who cares at this point!!!! Thank you for keeping 3 spots for us.
