Music you wish someone would skate to

I am very surprised that nobody has skated to this recently or ever, as far as I know...

it's a greatest hit and it's very lyrical so it would be good for skating.

of course, I would have loved to see Patrick on it... but I'd be interested in a dance team doing it... maybe a fast and flowy one like LaLa

Yes. The original with Grace Slick..
actually i'd love a "Summer of Love" program, with Jefferson Airplain, Janis Joplin, Moody Blues etc. oooooooor a Charles Manson program (i mean let's explore the dark side of humanity) that has to end with Helter Skelter of course. to stay in the 60s/70s has anyone ever skated to the Doors? Roadhouse Blues, Riders on the Storm, The End, or Light My Fire could be good for a skating program

I love the Summer of Love idea, big yes :jump3: :jump3: :jump3:
but big no to Charles Manson, and to exploiting the unwarranted Helter Skelter connection which the Beatles fiercely hated themselves, that's no joke, real people were murdered, no space for kidding really, please!

As for the Doors, young Yuzu had a gala to "Hello I Love You" with Kurt Browning's choreography incorporating some of Jim Morrison's characteristic moves and tricks in and outside of the program, lol! Linked below if you're curious :)

All great suggestions.. (except Charles Manson .. a psychopath) love ‘70’s music but other decades too
What about Magic Man by Heart (tho it hits a bit close to home for my comfort level.. I may be 80 but I am not dead 😵)

Also Jimi Hendrix, Credence Clearwater Revival and Jethro Tull..

This is a bit out of the box but I wish somebody skated to Kelly Moran's music. It would need a smart cut but I really like her works, she creates unique sounds and timbres with prepared piano. I'd love to see it cause she's a figure skating fan herself and even named one of her EP Origin (inspired by Yuzu's program).

i like exploring the dark side as it's part of our nature, if well made you're not supporting a psychopath and Manson and his story kind of summarize the lights and the sadows of the hippie movement, also marks the end of it. changing subject...how old are you again????? :wonder2: :wonder2: :wonder2: :wonder2: i love 70s music but my heart beats for 80s hair metal

you know another of my skating wishes is a Woodstock program

Any mention of Manson is, to some extent, advertising for him, and I don't know how we can to avoid that. In fact, he wasn't a hippie (he even seemed to despise them). His followers came from hippies, but that hardly says anything about the movement itself. I sympathize with Tarantino's approach: he showed the '60s, showed hippies, showed famous people who, for whatever reason, found themselves close to the tragic events of August 1969 (even Bruce Lee wasn't ignored), but didn't even name the main perpetrator.

One of my favourite cartoons. Thanks for posting it! One of my friends recreated the program (with orchestral music and a singer), choreography, costume and all in a long-ago club show and the audience loved it :love4:

Funnily enough, after watching it, I did wonder if anybody had ever attempted to recreate it.

That is so cool that one of your friends did. I am not surprised that it went down so well.

You know, I reckon Snoopy and his friends did a lot of good in popularising figure skating back in the day. Maybe that is what we need nowadays to get the kids interested: figure skating being featured in cartoons.

But, then again, how many kids watch cartoons nowadays? 😞

They don't know what they're missing!

Well, many of us have dark sides but I am so boring I still made it through the State Patrol backround check and polygraph test. But I have to say I enjoyed being 65 alot more than this 77 stuff.... Its scary that I have been alive for about 30 percent of the time back to the conclusion of the Revolutionary War.
