Would You Rather...

Buy fewer clothes because of the expense

WYR attend a Broadway show or orchestral concert?
Attend a broadway show. I think I would go to both but I would choose broadway show because it's usually fun and engaging.

WYR highlight your notes with crayons or markers?

WYR highlight your notes with crayons or markers?
I'd only think of using markers, so I could still read the words through the ink. Wouldn't most crayon colours cover up the word? (Actually what I do is draw a quick box around the pertinent part, maybe add an asterisk in the margin to really highlight it. Saves having to switch pens.)

WYR have hardwood floors or carpets?

(Yeah not a fan of crayons either, but I've seen crayon highlighters are a thing. They're alright)

Hardwood floors. I've experienced both but hardwood is easier to clean.

WYR live by the ocean or in the mountains?

I don't have a dog, but if I did, I would take a slow walk with him/her.

WYR compete in swimming or diving?
I can't do either! If I had to, I'd choose to learn to dive, as long as someone was right there to rescue me 🆘!

(When one of my cousins was the cox on the Canadian 8-oar rowing team in the 1963 Pan-Am games and 1964 Olympics, he couldn't swim either. The tradition then was that after a victory, the winning team's cox got tossed in the water by his team-mates. My cousin's team had a couple of rowers dive in first, catch him as he was thrown in, and tow him to shore.)

WYR redecorate a large room yourself or pay a professional to do it?

Pay a professional! I am fumblefingered enough just adding a wallhook or two...

Paint or wallpaper?

Paint or wallpaper?
Paint. I've lived with a succession of indoor cats. Some are happy to use cat scratching posts. Some will say, "No, thanks. I prefer that particular chair. Or that paper on the wall makes a satisfying ripping sound." You never know what a new feline overlord's quirks will be.

WYR play a board game or cards?

French! I want my croissant!

WYR go out to dinner or go for High Tea?
I guess I'd have to say high tea. I don't have set mealtimes and seldom eat full meals at one sitting. I prefer to graze, something breadlike first, later a main course, still later a dessert if I remember it. Waiters in restaurants hate me because I dawdle forever over a course, usually letting them take my plate even when I'm not finished just to stop them hovering. I'm not a food fan.

WYR go to a lecture on your favourite subject or be the one giving the talk?

Definitely go and listen to someone else - I hate talking in public.

WYR go to the lecture before in the morning (before lunch) or afternoon (after lunch)?

In first-year university a science course, any course, was a requirement. A friend and I randomly picked Geography 100, thinking it would be maps and pictures of foreign countries. It turned out to be physical geography, as in weather and rock strata and stuff. The lecture was scheduled right after lunch and the professor loved to turn out the lights and show slides. My friend and I had to make a deal that we'd alternate, one would struggle to stay awake while the other dozed off, along with a large percentage of the entire class. That sort of tells you when I'd rather listen to a lecture. Not right after lunch.

(Fortunately, there are a lot of us, like me, who LOVE speaking in public and will happily take over the stage from those who hate doing that. It all works out.)

WYR collect artwork of the type that hangs on a wall and has to have hooks drilled, or stands on a shelf and has to be dusted?

Days starting to get longer, more optimistic and less hot :)

Staying on the subject, WYR travel to see and experience the white nights (sun never sets down, all night parties everywhere) or black days (no sun at all, but the northern lights on the sky with all their crazy colours... )?
