Yes, Brian did. He told Philip Hersh last week he considered Evan the most serious contender, and people said he was dissing other skaters. No - he was clairvoyant! Also, Plushenko picked a podium of Evan, Brian and Jeremy, so even with the one mistake, Plushy clearly did better than most of the posters here
It's been a year. He's said more than once Jeffrey skated a perfect competition. He did not let himself get dragged into Chan's little dustup. Are you so obsessed with one French guy and his opinions on the quad that you have to be that nasty about it? Skate Canada officials have been extremely unpleasant, so maybe their karma is that Canada lost the third spot in both the men's and the pairs.
I find it really disappointing that people come here and accuse others of bashing Canadians and then go about bashing various non-Canadians (e.g. Brian, Lysacek, DomShabs in the dance, etc.). Enough already. These skaters have worked so hard, for so many years, and even if we don't like their skating, let's at least try not to get too bitchy.
I begin to think you are right. Him or Dai. If Chan thinks he can win Olys with a base mark under 70, he's delusional, even if the judges do love him.
I really hope
cloudkicker09 is right about Brian fighting back next season. I'm very disappointed for him, but maybe now he'll come back motivated and strong next year, like he was after the Olympic season. At the very least, I hope he stays healthy. He's had medical issues each of the last three seasons, and still got European and World medals every year - including three golds.
And finally, on a happy note - congratulations, Evan Lysacek!

What a comeback: no GPF, third at US Nats, and now World champion. Good for him. Though I wish he'd gone for the quad, at least once.
