Carolina's sp has potential to be a masterpiece. This particular choice reminds me of her phenomenal performance to Canon. I'm slightly reserved about her lp music though.

Adios Nonino for Sasha? I hope she definitely uses the fast part, but Jeffrey's cut is also gorgeous. I'm susprised she's turning MS into the long program. I've assumed she would use it for the short. But she's done in many times (turning a sp into a lp and vice versa) in the past with success, and I can't wait to see!!

There you go...

Sasha Cohen
SP: Adios Nonino
FS: Moonlight Sonata

as by her IceNetwork bio

yay! I can't wait! I thought for sure he SP would be Moonlight. I would have loved to see her do something firey for the long, but whatever she does will be brilliant. Moonlight is masterpiece

in case you have any doubts about that.

here is
Adios Nonino.

I am pretty sure it has been used by one or two skaters before...no names come to mind right now, possibly Patrick Chan? Good, but I think she could have done better.

I can't wait to see her costumes.:love:

Very nice music choices by Carolina. The Chopin is one of my favorite pieces of all time. (I actually skated to it last season).

Jeff Buttle used it in 2007 and 2008 for his short program. Now that was a masterpiece. It will be interesting to see what Sasha can do with it...

There are a lot of new announcements of skater's music on IN-I've updated the Cliff Notes list accordingly.

Oddest choice is Eliot Halverson doing an Egyptian Turkish Bellydance.

:laugh:That would definitely be interesting. I can't wait to see the costumes. I wonder if any of the dance teams would come up with a belly dance for the ODs.

Surprise! Evan Lysacek snaps up Schez. Yet another tick in the Ye Olde Liste of Warhorses. Is there a warhorse he hasn't skated to yet left for his SP next season?

OK, he's done Rach, Carmen, and Tosca. Maybe his SP will be Swan Lake???

His website (http://www.figureskatersonline.com/evanlysacek/news.html#20090712) also said Vera Wang was designing his costumes. I think this may be a first, as I don't recall her designing for men before.... She can adapt one of Nancy's black or white costumes for Evan's Swan Lake!!!

I personally am excited to see Evan's free. True, the music is used a lot, but with good reason. The piece is very long, and there all the selections are almost equal in goodness. Not many men (none come to mind) have used the music, as the story is of a female charachter...but I am guessing evan does not know the first thing about the story :D

Will this be Vera's first try at menswear? I think so.

As for his short...Romeo and Juliet of course!

Great choice by McLuaghlin and Brubaker. This is something nobody has done yet, expect that amazing Bollywood number by on So You Think You Can Dance! It will be challenging and exciting!

Yeah, that Slumdog Millionaire choice from M/B is INSPIRED. I was actually hoping someone would turn "Jai Ho" or "O Saya" into an ex routine.

Just as long as McBru don't do a reenactment of the scene preceding when Jamal as a small boy gets the Bollywood star's autograph. That's a fall I don't ever want to see again.

Personally, I'm just wondering if Evan is going to take the plunge and wear some bright red for his Schez program...

...since I'm not expecting anything profoundly amazing, actual skating-wise. Surprise me Evan!

Daisuke Takahashi said yesterday that he intend to polish the programs he prepared for last season and hopefully he will use those. There is a chance of change, but this is what we've got so far:

SP: "Eye" - a tango
LP: music from the Italian film "La Strada"

^Good choice, since he never managed to compete with those two programs. I saw a clip of his tango SP at an exhibition and it was great. He has really good interpretation. I am really looking forward to seeing him compete this season.

Scheherezade for Evan?! I think John Curry is the only other male skater to use this piece, or am I wrong?

Why doesn't Yuna announce her music yet, although her rivals already did (though Joannie, Miki didn't yet..)? I've heard she is practicing with the headphones on to keep her music secret, which sounds ridiculous.

As one of her fans, I hope she will come up with nice music choice: intense music... which suits her better. I personally wishes her to use the music regarding Middle East once more because I think her Scheherazade last season wasn't very satisfying considering her potentials. I really wish her to use "Dance of seven veils" in Salome (because I like this) or similar style, but this time with real Arabian costume with the real Arabian dance.

Joannie is skating to a Tango piece for her SP and to "Samson and Delilah" by Saint-Saens for her LP. Miki has not yet revealed her competitive music for the season.
