Great choice by McLuaghlin and Brubaker. This is something nobody has done yet, expect that amazing Bollywood number by on So You Think You Can Dance! It will be challenging and exciting!
Joannie is skating to a Tango piece for her SP and to "Samson and Delilah" by Saint-Saens for her LP. Miki has not yet revealed her competitive music for the season.

Of all the tunes of the Warhorse selection, it is Shez which I believe to be the gem of the pack. Every skater should be indebted to Rimsky-Korsakov for bringing that music with so many different themes and rhythms for them to either compete with or practice with. No, his website http://www.figureskatersonline.com/evanlysacek/news.html#20090712 says the SP hasn't been decided. I think that was just a reply to 'what warhorse is left to choose?'
Why doesn't Yuna announce her music yet, although her rivals already did (though Joannie, Miki didn't yet..)? I've heard she is practicing with the headphones on to keep her music secret, which sounds ridiculous.
Will she compete with headphones on as well? That would be silly if it was true! Will she compete with headphones on as well?

I don't think she practices with headphones on! That would be ridiculous! LOL
In fact some time ago I read from a (non-English) skating discussion forum that someone (the poster) saw her skating to some upheat stimulating soundtrack music while practicing at the rink. Won't disclose the music choice since she hasn't announced it yet plus I have no idea whether the source is reliable or not. But at the very least she is not skating with a pair of headphones on her pretty head! Well, apparently not all the time![]()
I've read in one of Yuna's forums that she is practicing with earphones (not same as headphones?) and a device on her arm on. I didn't see it myself... So I don't know for sure...

that is not so unusual. Many young girls at my rink wear ipods on their arms and buds in their ears when skating. I assume so they can pay thier program over and over while not bothering everyone.
I see, and thank you and the other poster for the information. So the source seems to be not very reliable after allYeah, I've actually read that too. I forget in which article, but she does have earphones because she doesn't want to play the music in the arena. Only she, Orser, Wilson, and her mother know the music.
I agree. I don't think it's weird at all. If a skater is wanting to practice one part of their program to the music, the most considerate thing for them to do is listen with earphones. Then they can play it 20x in a row if they want without disturbing anyone else's training time.
Of course she and her team can do whatever they want. I fully respect that and I'm happy :yes:But I cannot help but think that wearing headphones simply for the sake of keeping one's music choice in secret sounds a little bit ridiculous (IIRC, they said they won't disclose it until the season begins?). What's the point? Almost everyone else has announced her/his music choice...

with winner announced at Trophe Eric Bompard.
I wish someone will post the video of her routine that she is practicing(of course twithout the music), Then may be looking at the Cherography and start guessing the Music - May be we will start a new contest called "Guess the Music Contest"with winner announced at Trophe Eric Bompard.
This may be a better way to pass the summer than all those political rambling going on lately in the post.

This program looks like absolute disaster.

Plush is going to destroy this excuse for program.
That was really bad, probabily now he knows why people like Joubert, Plushenko needs to be given little more respect and that quad was seriously under rotated. Hope he will watch Ponsero's video to know how it is done
It's also the first time he has tried a quad in competition. That was really bad, probabily now he knows why people like Joubert, Plushenko needs to be given little more respect and that quad was seriously under rotated. Hope he will watch Ponsero's video to know how it is done
Well, at least Chan is trying. I'm not a fan of his and the program bored me, but I appreciate his making the effort to further develop his technical ability. That having been said, the quad did look UR to me, and I didn't see the boatload of transitions I was promised. Re the comparison to Yannick, well, few skaters have a quad as good as his when it's on.That was really bad, probabily now he knows why people like Joubert, Plushenko needs to be given little more respect and that quad was seriously under rotated. Hope he will watch Ponsero's video to know how it is done
FWIW, I remember some nasty comments in various forums about Joubert's LP after Euros - and it was a brand new program (two weeks) from a skater returning from an injury. People expect more polish from the top guys, and there's a lot of hype around Chan which also adds to that. I'll admit I expected a better program than what I saw, but I figure this was mostly Chan just trying it out to see what needs tinkering and fixing (hint: the music!!!).Huh? That program is probably about 4 weeks old. Sure looks really bad to me tooIt's also the first time he has tried a quad in competition.
One could interpret the bit about the programs of the 6.0 era being easier despite the quads as disrespectful towards the skaters who did them - that includes Plush. But I don't recall any specific negative comments made by Chan regarding Plushenko. When did Chan show any sign of disrespect toward Plushenko?
