Grand Prix Final: Ladies SP

CoP is creating a bunch of neurotic skaters.

I think Yu-Na has become SO focused on not getting an edge call on her Flip that she gets distracted from actually doing the darn jump.

I still don't understand why Ashley is sow decidedly below the rest of the pack... Sounds like they're all having rough skates. :(

Lutz was 2 footed, could have been called a double. Plus an edge call, that means 2 jumps are scored lower, what is the big problem to understand

Kim
James Bond
3ltz3t excellent
completely popped the flip. Brian looks like he's been hit
fast layback into biellmann, 2 of positions are planned ugly
spiral (leg position on first improved I thought)
right into 2a also light and excellent
spin
off into really good f/w -hard and in character
spin to end
And shoots the audience

Brian Orser reassuring her it's OK

So..the score: 65.64 into second

She was landing the Flip in practise all the time. It's the same with the Loop, she lands it in practise - but not in competition. Perhaps she has a habit to get really nervous if on one jump she has repeatedly a mistake.

Congrats to Miki, YuNa and Alena. Overall imo it was a well skated short program for the ladies.

Yu-na just needs to stop psyching herslef out. Shes done this short program twice with clean 3flips, with no edge calls.

Don't believe so. Looked clean to me

I can't believe I got up this early to watch GPF.... ugh.

Anyway.... I think her 3T was downgraded........... sigh.
First, her perfect 3F that used to get +2 GOE got edge calls, and
now they are attacking her 3T.

I don't know... if Kim's 3T should be downgraded, then show me a better 3T.

I think her 2A were UR...

Happy for Alena! She's so cheerful, I smiled with her! And new PB! Go, girl!

Well, Yuna made a mistake and she was left with two triple jumps in the programme. How much did you want her to score? Objectively speaking, 65 points is a very good score. Had she scored something about 70, it would be not fair.
Triple jump after steps is one of required elements in the short programme and judges had to punish her for poping her flip.
I think that is an answer to anyone who thinks Yuna is overscored. When she is perfect she is being deservedly rewarded, when she makes a mistake she is being scored accordingly to that mistake, too.

I am so happy for Alena. I hope she is not too excited about being in the third, so she can skate well tomorrow and hang on to the bronze. She would be so happy to get bronze!

Her triple toe looks UR'ed in opening combo - I guess she get close enough on it.

I agree that it looked a bit short, not sure if enough to get downgraded.
I also think she lacked the spark that she had earlier this year. I thought Miki was better on the day.
