What a treat to see Jason and Nobunari back to back! Two solid early season performances. Glad to see Jeremy Ten got a PB too. :)

Too many jump mistakes. I like Mario, but I'm not sure the music works with skating, though audience responded to it.

SP: 31.65+28.61-1.00 = 59.28, in 13th (out of 32)

Interestingly, Nobunari Oda used this Mario music first, albeit with fewer sound effects. So it definitely works with skating.

But at any rate, I would rather have seen other video game music used since there's so much orchestral music available from the likes of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, just to name a few.

Too bad about the jumps. He needs to do better in the FS, if he wants to go to the Olympics. I hoped for better after Anita's meltdown yesterday... :disapp:

Jason Brown got all level 4s (and only one to do so)! Nobunari still had higher BV and GOE, though. Jason still got solid +GOE, just lost .1 for the tentative 3F-3T combo.

Nice work Nobunari!

What's up with the low scoring judge? He gave Jason 5s in PCS, LOL.

All in all a good start in the men's competition.

There was also one (the same?) judge who gave Nobunari 6.00 & 6.25 in PCS :rolleye:

And one judge in Ice Dance gave 5.0s and 4.50 to M/K, marks between 5.50 and 6.00 to the top2 couples and 7s to O'B/M... :rolleye::slink:

That said, I just realized that all the skaters in the Top 10 got personal bests....are the judges being extra generous today?

Brendan got +GOE or neutral on EVERYTHING! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!
