2025 CS Nebelhorn Trophy Women's Short Program

I kind of understand what she may be thinking. She has noticeable improvement from last year, but she was not comparable to Jia IMHO, and was generously given higher PCS.
Yes, the field was strong here and they needed to score her in relation to the rest. I still think her score was very generous, I wouldn't give her highest PCS, maybe presentiation.

Well that was quite nice - got to see a lot of the event.
If you missed something find the rewatch... lots there

Shame Hana had so many mistakes, cause her program was my fav :(
2nd fav was Isabeau's, but I do think the exhibition costume actually went better with it, even though the dress is gorgeous. The underrotation on the toe + the level 3 spin hurt her score. But 71 is still good, and she had the highest pcs! Mona was also hurt by calls...both jumps in the combo q and also an edge call on the lutz.

It's 5 am, I need to drink some more relaxing tea and try to go to bed, I have two more days of this :dbana: Thank you all for keeping me company as I chug through this skating marathon, see you tomorrow :love4:

Jia was very good! It's nice to see after how much she struggled last season. 74 is probably her ceiling in the short, given she got all levels and was matching in pcs with Amber, but it's certainly a good ceiling! The program is nice, but it's just kind of generically lovely for me. She does generically lovely well, though.

I'm going to be interested to see Isabeau's protocol. I'm not certain the back end of the combo made it around. We'll see.

Still, a really nice skate for her. Lots of these ladies are doing great.
I was right. The toe was under.

It almost certainly made the difference in placement here.

i can't believe Amber's 3A didn't get more consistent GOE, the 3s and 4s were well deserved but the 1s??? that was probably the best 3A she's ever done in competition.

Echoing others on the noticeable improvement with Isabeau's speed, she's definitely got better flow in and out of the jumps even though they still aren't the nicest to look at. at this point it's too late in the game to change anything substantial so it makes sense they're working with what she's got. i have to say i'm not a huge fan of this program though, it doesn't hit the same as last year's even though they tried to go with the same vibe. the music cuts are too similar i think. i would love to see her go back to her old one.

Amber's 3A was high but I don't think it got a lot of flow on the way out which would drop the GOE a bit. Nice program though...

It is nice that Isabeau is able to go into her jumps more quickly. It lessens the impact of the ugly entrance to the lutz and flip. Despite what others may think, I think her PCS is deserved. Mone and Isabeau are the two skaters here that understand extension and Isabeau's skating is both quite fast and very very smooth in person. Mone's programs bore me a bit.

I love Hana's program. Pity about the jumps.

Jia was very good, and the difference was Amber stepping out of the loop, but Amber blew me away. The music, the packaging, the choreo, and that big beautiful 3A. Everything works in this program and I got chills. (okay, I've always loved that song as well)
I thought it was very Olympic. I love how it built musically.

Despite what others may think, I think her PCS is deserved.
Agree, except I would give her even higher components. Isabeau’s skating is of the utmost beauty, grace, and charm. To me, there is no other women skater competing internationally who can rival Isabeau’s beautiful skating:love2: I love her new costume too.

I love Amber’s dress and her 3A was gorgeous!
