Nebelhorn Trophy 2013: Sep 25-28 [Oberstdorf, Germany] - Olympic Qualifying Event

I dont understand why people always need to fight in figure skating ;) Isnt it all about enjoying the sport, the skaters? I dont care if this person or that pair wins, honestly I just like to watch them all, but sometimes I feel that there is a lot in the background of this sport that shouldnt be there.

We all have our favorites, but in the end the better team will win and about this the judges will decide. Unless you can come up with a judging computer, we just have to accept it and in the end its all about subjectivity. I like Maxim´s acting during the programs, so did I love Daniel´s. We all look after something else in a skater, some fans only care about jumps others more about the "B" side.

You shouldnt discuss the sport to death honestly. :D

You don't check out these boards often, do you -- things here are always discussed to death here.

Seriously, I feel you. The back-and-forth does get old after a while and people end up saying the same thing over and over again, which doesn't add any value to the discussion.

But I just contribute to the discussion the best I can and then leave when things get drastic, ha.

You know what V/T's score is an indictment of the system. If they (the judges) hadn't been giving them high marks for their vapid empty programs or playing favourites, VT would be challenged to do something interesting. Maxim absolutely looks uninteresting for the entire program. He's just moving from one element to the next. What they need really quickly is a consistently technically superior team with great choreography, otherwise they will continue with the usual bland programs. And I also have a feeling that this also cannot be totally pinned on Morozov. Athletes of their calibre should be able to demand of their choreographer something more interesting. I have a feeling that they are just too comfortable

Loved how Dasa was flirting with the judges, pity there were no guys in the jury :(

I think she has a great expression in her face when she is skating!

Might I add, I find Trankov's posture and stroking disturbingly awful:mad: How could they give them a world record for that!! I couldn't even watch it till the end:bang:

I agree and disagree at the same time. I mean I watched The Worlds2013, and they were head and shoulders above the top 10, so I don't see how the judges won't give them the same marks after watching them compete with other skaters

The difference in points between V/T and S/S at worlds was 149-132, today between V/T and W/W it was 150 and 113! that's a HUGE difference. Not just 17 but 37. V/T clearly got some scores they didn't deserve for the better, maybe it means that some teams where Olympic spots were on the line also got scores they didn't deserve as well for the worse. I just think having someone of V/T's caliber is distracting and self serving maybe a little showy , they have their grand prix assignment so the B competitions should have gone to other skaters who didn't get any. Allowing the judges to concentrate on judging skating properly.

You shouldnt discuss the sport to death honestly. :D

You obviously don't watch either soccer of football. Sometime the talking goes on longer than the games :)
