Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

^foruiz, ITA. There was a post in this forum in the Olympics thread where Michael Christian Martinez was described as "a poor man's Hanyu." I think the poster was referring to their similarity in build and style; both are slim with amazing flexibility: they were the only two men in the competition performing the Biellman spin. Yuzuru of course is far ahead in terms of skill level and artistic polish. I thought the remark hit too close to home for comfort.Anyway I hope both of us will do our part to improve things back home.

Since they arrived early to Japan and were actually watching Saitama Worlds among the crowds (correct me if Im wrong, pls. I heard so, though I didn't see them myself), I knew that Tatiana/Maxim will be skating at the 2014 Worlds Gala tour scheduled on April 5 & 6th at Osaka. But is it true Adelina and Patrick will be there, too?

Wow. It's no wonder Simon Reed (Eurosport) kept calling Japan "the home of figure skating".

Any of the shows is worth seeing, just for Hanyu (or Asada)... but look at how many other big names you could see at the same time! And apart from "the usual suspects", there are many that either retired already, or didn't compete at World's:

The article says that he received a lot of offers to appear on TV shows and participate in various events (ice shows, etc) and was adjusting his schedule accordingly, but he'll be available right before or after the 26th. I suspect that he'll be present on the 27th since there's a JFL match between a home team, Sony Sendai and MIO Biwako Shiga from Shiga Prefecture on that day.

I'd like to watch some youtube videos of Yuzuru Hanyu's peformances of his Junior and Senior years (or even before Juniors!). I was thinking something like a playlist with his "best" SPs and LPs of every season. Does anyone happen to know of such a playlist? I'm sure there must be plenty out there, but youtube is pretty much unknown territory for me, so would appreciate some pointers!

And my thanks for this amazing thread, some of the shared youtube vids are just incredible fun to watch! And the vid with Hana ni nare and the translation just brought me to tears. *snif* :

the absence of Dai's name popped out at me too. He's still recovering from the injuries that have plagued him for the second half of the season, I suppose - but I know that for one of the shows (the one that's his creation, sorry I don't remember the name but I think it's relatively earlier) he will be present as an announcer, but will not skate. I hope he heals up fast, perhaps we can see him at some of the shows later in the summer. Practically half of team Japan is retiring, if Mao decides to as well.....
but I hope they all just get the rest that they deserve after a long Olympic season, and that back pain Yuzu was getting will heal up too ;--;

No other male skater inspires the kind of fangirling that Yuzuru does. Have you seen him in Tumblr? The girls are going crazy over him.
