Yulia Lipnitskaya

@Alba

I  your custom title. I too am on team dumped ice dance and agree with Yulia forever

Re: Tiny Yulia

I was a little bit surprised to see how much smaller she is than Serafima who is almost two years younger than her but we've always known that she was small for her age and will likely always be a tiny little thing. I don't see this as an issue but it is annoying when people say things like "wait til she gets hips". :rolleye:

You better not start a useless discussion, with no arguments, in first place.

And what do you understand here? Tell me where and when it was written dismissively about her flexibility in this topic?!

I think they are speaking generally about other posters in other threads and not about anyone here.

Yep, some sounds like they're wishing for it. :sarcasm:
My opinion will not change on this subject, unless she proves me completely wrong.
From her body type I can see that she will not have that kind of problem.

loiza, maybe. Isabel was having a discussion with me, for no reason at all.

Isabel was one of the best defenders of Yulia in the months leading up to the Olympics. She would put people to shame with her knowledge of Yulia's protocol scores and most importantly why she earned them. She is definitely a fan and fun to watch when she defends her. I think it's just a misunderstanding.

Well, I don't think Yulia needs defending, and in anycase not from me. That's for sure.

Guys, I'm sorry I don't know where to ask. Anyone going to French GP this year? Where can I order the tickets? I can't find anything on the official site of the event.

I'm thinking about it. I would like to go too, so I'm keeping an eye on.
Let me know if you see anything first.

That would be awesome. I'm thinking about GPF in Barcelona but don't know if I have the $$$ :bang:

I'm thinking about that too, but I have the same problem, € € €.
I would like to see GPF, so I can watch all the best, but I love France and never been to Bordeaux and there is a direct flight from Milan. Barcellona is not cheap, but I have no idea about Bordeaux though.

By the way, in an old article about Yulia I was reading that she chose Eteri.
It's very interesting how observing (is that the right word?) she is.

At the time, Julia was the best skater in the figure skating school [in Ekaterinburg] and could do double Axel when she was 10, but on the country level, in her age group, she "had nothing to catch". "We went to Russian Cup series, and we realized that our level was far below from that of Moscow and St. Petersburg athletes, - continues Julia's mother. - So the question was, what to do next? "

But first they had to figure out where to go and to whom, so Lipnitskayas began a search of "their" coach. "At competitions, we were surreptiously watching the coaches — Julia admits. - My mother told me: look who would you like to train with? I liked Eteri Tutberidze right away, I told my mama that I would like to train with her. We then talked about her like that: look, there is ''our'' coach coming".

Eteri Georgievna learned that story after Julia began training in her group. "I remember that competition, but I had no idea that I was watched that closely by someone - smiles Eteri. - I was there with Sasha Deeva and Kamilla Gainetdinova and tried to prepare each of them for for the skate. Kamilla had to be guarded from communication, and Sasha, on the contrary, needed to communicate as much as possible. And I was trying to do it all at once, I imagine how funny that must have looked."

There are different interviews in that link. Very interesting and worth to read it again. :)

When I said that, I was referring there something I read in blog, youtube and others and not to you, sorry if it was not very clear, not my intention.

This thread has a diverse following similar to the rest of GS. People from all over the globe want to celebrate Yulia's past and future success and see what she is up to. People from the US,Italy,Australia,Russia,Brazil,Canada,Japan etc....etc. There is bound to be some confusion. One thing is clear....we all like to watch stuff like this...

My mistake then. Forgive me. :)
The thing is that Rai (Italian pubblic television), for example, thanks to Franca Bianconi is making a lot of negative comments using this gymnastic story about her. Saying that she skates like a gymnast because she was one, and things like that.
They were very nasty with some of the young girls as well, like Gracie and Osmond too, but more with here. Obviously because they saw her as a threat to Carolina. It was disgusting, so much that many fans which are not Yulia fans got mad and start criticising RAI Sport on their FB page.
