Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Am I the only one thinking that is rude that fans go asking Javier about Yuzuru old the time?
I also think asking about Yuzuru from Javi is insensitive as hell but what's done is done. And I hope that Javi didn't mind since Japanese fans are polite (most of them are). Poor Javi but I guess his mind was more on the Zayak problem than that question.:disapp:

I agree. While I don't think they meant any ill by it, I think fans should refrain themselves and just focus on the skater themselves. Maybe they could have reshaped the question into 'how is everyone doing in the cricket club' or something. They also need to tone it down on twitter tbh. :ohwell:

If they were mostly Japanese fans then I am kind of shock. I've always thought Japanese fans are sensitive and thoughtful. I think those on Twitter are from all over Asia and many of them are still very young. The sad thing is we couldn't do anything about it.

Some Japanese fans ask about how Yuzu is in the fan meeting with Javi. Javi said Yuzu is fine in Toronto now and He do training on ice. He tell the fans to look forward to Yuzu's performance this year since Yuzu's new programs are really fantastic.

Thanks for the info! :)

I think it's a bit of an overreaction to call the fans who went to Fernandez's fanmeeting "rude" or "insensitive as hell" for asking about how Hanyu is doing. If it was the only thing they talked about, yes, that's disrespectful, but I 100% doubt that it was anything more than a "oh, I know Yuzuru is injured, is he doing okay?", to which he answered and then everyone moved on.

Twitter/Instagram is a bit of different story, but I just went through his tweets/pictures from the past ~2 months and there was maybe 4 irrelevant comments about Hanyu in total (although I did find some of your tweets KansaiPJ!). Compared to however many other comments he gets that's probably less than 3% of all comments. It's annoying, but it's not nearly the level of obnoxious disrespect that went on around the Olympics, and I think that Fernandez as an adult, who is training mates and friends with Hanyu, can understand that maybe Hanyu has some overeager young fans (which really, comes with the territory of going on SNS).

If you find someone's tweets/comments particularly annoying then maybe you can just message them yourself? Instead of talking about it on GS when nobody on GS are the ones sending these kinds of messages. I don't mean to sound curt, but it's not like this is the first time this conversation has happened.

Wanted to actually add something of substance, so here's a tweet with a newspaper article: In a survey of 1000 men and 1000 women ages 15-69, the top five favourite sports athletes are 1) Ichiro 2) Asada Mao 3) Nishikori Kei 4) Hanyu Yuzuru and 5) Tanaka Masahiro. Hanyu moved up from 30th last year to 4th this year :)

Don't worry. They seem to have had a fan meeting with Javi at a restaurant. They must have talked about many things, not only Yuzuru. We can see a red-and-yellow-colored sleeve of a fan's jacket in one of the photos in the fan club's facebook. I guess they are longtime fans of Javi. :)

BTW, the video made by Yuzuru China Fan Club is cool! Maybe they will have a fan meeting with Yuzuru at a large Chinese restaurant next month...?

I've joined this forum before and have enjoyed much, but this is my first post.

Very nice!!! I also like the music that came with it. Korn! I hope that someone would make one from Deftones next time :agree: This is the exact merging of the bipolar opposites with regards to my interests which is Nu Metal/Metal and Yuzuru Hanyu! Oooh, all those videos make me so excited for the COC already...

Yuzu's Amino Vital commercial made me want to see him skating to Metallica's Enter Sandman

If Javi’s Japanese fans didn’t mind about Yuzuru’s injury at all in the fan meeting, then I would be shocked

Here is the full report of Javier’s fan dining meeting held on October 3, the day before Japan Open.
http://taranofsdiary.jugem.jp/?eid=230

This is the second year of Japanese fan dining meeting, there were 32 fans attended compared to previous year only with 7 persons. Javier answered several questions in the first phase of activity including his SP & LP this season, his favorite colors and skaters and the city or place he would like to visit in Japan.

Besides, he recalled and answered the first impression of meeting and talking with Yuzu in 2011.

In the latter part, Javier kindly made a fan service. He chatted one and one, and the fans delivered their gifts prepared to Javier.

The message bibi1899 posted was one of fans chatted with Javier. Actually, he at last told the fan: ”It’s (Yuzuru) his life.” The reporter thought he might to advise the fan not to worry too much about Yuzu as he can take care himself.

Reading the whole fans dining meeting was warm and pleasant. Once again, I see their friendship indeed.

Thanks for the updates everyone :yay:

This is serious. My friend sent me a photo of yesterday's article, in which the representative of JSF said Yuzuru's injury is deformed intervertebral disc in his back: http://ameblo.jp/bikketora/image-11936929713-13093036010.html

Please, Japanese poster please check the credibility of this article.

The part might be about Yuzuru:

Apologies, I can't help with the "check the credibility" part, but--the image you linked to just shows "Forbidden" to me.

This sounds really serious. I really hope it's not true...

It said Yuzuru has already dealt with number of issues in his back even from 2 years ago (I am afraid that was the disastrous season when he placed 4th at Worlds). But he tried to put up with it because Sochi was coming. That means he has dealt with the pain in his back for 2 years and didn't take any treatment until now.

After 4 week of resting and treatment, if his condition hasn't improved they might have to take more action. And this words was taken from a representative of JSF. And this might be the week 4.

However, my Japanese is very limited so we have to wait for Japanese posters to join us for more information.

PS: I have just edited the links in the previous post, it works now.

Thank you for the summary. I did google-translate the part you posted. It seems like the writer isn't completely certain of the representative's info. It really sounds worrying though... like it's a chronic problem.

To think he was planning that crazy layout this season. And stupid me was suggesting quad loop! :bang:
