It's today (already, in Far East).

I'm not acquainted with skaters starting in the last group just because they are of the hosting federation.
Won't it affect their nerves? If they are at ease, then that's fine.

The skaters were drawn using the same method that is used for the Singles skaters in all ISU Championships (Euros, 4CC, JW, Worlds):

First, the skaters were divided in two equal groups according to their ISU World Ranking.

The 16 skaters with either no ranking or lowest ranking skate in the earlier group, and they drew for the order of skating in those first 3 groups, which is:

6 Abigail PIETERSEN
7 Siobhan McCOLL
8 Melinda Sherilyn WANG
9 Crystal Wynewyne KIANG
10 Tamami ONO

11 Phoebe DI TOMMASO
12 Stacy PERFETTI
13 Yueren WANG
14 Tiffany Ting-Ye WU
15 Morgan FIGGINS
16 Gracielle Jeanne TAN


The top 16 ranked skaters are in the later groups to skate. This group was subdivided into two smaller groups, again by ISU World rank.

The top 11 of those 16 skaters are in the last two groups to skate, and they drew for order of skating in those two groups, which turned out to be:

23 Ashley WAGNER
24 Binshu XU
25 Miki ANDO
26 Yan LIU

27 Mao ASADA
28 Chae-Hwa KIM
29 Joannie ROCHETTE
30 Fumie SUGURI
31 Na-Young KIM
32 Mira LEUNG


Finally, the remaining 5 skaters from the top group of 16 drew for order of skating in the middle group to skate.

Na-Young Kim is the skater that won Korean Nationals this year. She also won the bronze medal at JGP Zagreb. I know she has a triple lutz and flip, but ironically, I can't find protocols of events in which she's landed the easier triples! (She had the triple toe downgraded at Korean Nats)

Chae-Hwa Kim was at 2007 NHK where she finished 9th. She can land the easier triples: loop, toe and salchow.

Who is Anastasia Gimazetdinova? Just knocked Phaneuf out of first with a score of 55,49... Oh, the first American is coming next.

Ouch...ashley wagner must have fallen hard...
I just saw the result, anyone knows what happened?

This demonstrates that these girls cannot be flooded with so much responsibilities after a stellar showing at nationals...it won't be like that all the time unfortunately

I think she did double-lutz-double-toe... She didn't fall.

Loved the Spiral sequence from the Chinese girl - very nice.

Ha, that was probably the best spiral sequence Miki ever did in competition. Her Triple flip looked a bit short of rotation though.

again - voila, it worked.

Good scores, but not very high for Miki.

Who is the commentator? I like that comment, very calm, knows what she is talking about - has nice things to say about everyone...
