Hmmm...so maybe not the best skate for Amber Glenn, but "good enough" for this competition. I recognize Sarina Joos's name, but I don't know what she's expected to do here.

Ngl, I'm now rooting for Anastasia Gozhva to win herself a Challenger medal here. She must have had the skates of her life. But of course, Sarina is a dark horse for a medal too.

And almost another 180+ score for Sarina - She's been very consistently scoring in the 180-185 range so far this season, and really should be the one sent out to Euros and Worlds at this point.

Looks like Amber landed the 3A again! That's exciting for her, hopefully that means she's gotten over the mental block and can land it consistently now! The first half of her FS appears to have been strong, but the second half was a double and two singles :(

At this point, I say send Lindsay and Isabeau to Worlds & 4CC (if they want to go), and add Amber to complete the 4CC team. Clearly, she deserves another outing this season, but she's not been stable enough to justify her being sent over Lindsay.

Great job by Sarina! Gutted we couldn't watch any of it :(
Luckily Italy have two spots at euros to ponder over :coffee:

Exactly!!

Ava Marie and Queen Kaori were the only two ladies unbeaten in the GP circuit this year. 4CC should clearly be Isabeau, Lindsay (earned more points and more consistent than Amber) and Ava-Marie cause she topped 200+ and has an higher score than Ambers highest score, despite having three events. Amber is too inconsistent.

Amber - This is not and won’t be the last time, she completely disintegrates in the second half of the free skate.

Amber cost the Americans three spots at last year Worlds by her lack of fight. Had she added one combo double, the Ladies would have three spots. So, I blame her for this lack of thinking and even effort.

Furthermore, at this competition, she showed exactly why she shouldn’t be chosen. Had she just added a seq 2A to one of the last popped jumps, she could have won gold. She is not a competitor. She gives up and to me this lack of effort, would make me choose Ava Marie over Amber for 4CC.

Yes. If I recall, she attributed her mistakes at Skate America to a loss of focus after landing the 3A. I remember thinking, “Girl, bye. Who you think you fooling with that?” I know what that sort of overexcited loss of focus looks like (see Higuchi when she landed her 3A for the first time or Siao Him Fa’s free skate at 2022 Worlds). And what my eyes saw in Glenn that day was actually a loss of stamina and therefore, such a thing will happen again.

Maybe you've only seen Ava Marie at NHK Trophy, but I've been following her career for much longer than that, and belive me when I say that Ava is no less of an inconsistent head-case than Amber. Extremely talented, yes, and clearly capable of putting up very high scores, but also a skater who rarely puts together two clean programs in one competition (as much as it pains me), so if Amber is too inconsistent, so is Ava. Despite having a significantly higher SB than Amber, Ava's average score this season is still 5 points lower than Amber's, if that's any indication for you.

Realistically, the 4CC team should be Lindsay, Ava and Amber, as a sort of "skate-off" for the second Worlds spot, but after Isabeau had to withdraw from last season's 4CC, I cannot see her willingly skip out on it this season. Who USFSA will send to 4CC depends on what they value more - Someone who isn't delivering her full potential but still consistently scores in the 175-190 range, or someone who has already shown her full potential this season and scored above 200, but who also has a higher risk of falling below the 170 or even 160 points line.

She's the NHK Champion, Right? After that performance, I'd send Isabeau, Lindsay, and Ava. Sadly, Amber and Starr have been huge disappointments this season

If I was the fed I'd wait for Nationals to decide, because at this point there are no clear leaders. Every decision right now feels somehow wrong because it's random.
