She is currently second at the local SPB competition. Carolina is first and Gubanova is third. Liza's PCS is about 5 points ahead of Gubanova. Caro did not attempt a 3-3. Liza's jump layout for her SP is the same as last season. She opens with a 3T-3T.

I hope she will either attempt a 3A or 3Lz-3T later in the season. Because a 3T-3T is not going to make her competitive in international competitions.

Or national ones. They do often change the layout as the season progresses, so I suppose it will depend on Liza's form. I'm very curious about Liza's free skate, as, if memory serves, she often does a lot of doubles in this competition this early in the season.

I've seen some clips of her 3Lz-3T in practice. She can't consistently land the 3T cleanly. But I think that unless Liza is injured, it is worth the risk of attempting that combination. Realistically, this is her last attempt at qualifying for the Olympics. They have to go for it. If they settle for just "3T-3T, 3Lz, 2A", then it is as good as giving up.

Senior Ladies Final Results
Fpl Name Score SP FS
1 Elizaveta Tuktamysheva 213.35 2 2 (there is info that she landed 3A in FS)

This is very interesting if true. Any confirmation that she did land 3A in FS?

So happy for Tuk! It looked from a couple of months ago that she was seriously preparing for OG season - got in shape, started programs early, and now clean programs and 3a, first gold in August - how wonderful! Will keep fingers crossed that she stays injury free and strong.
Does anyone at all have video of her from that competition?

That was false information. Liza didn't jump 3A. Here are the protocols: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz_Xj8rUCF2DcFI2ZG5qQUhxWm8/view
Liza's SP at 39th page, LP at 47th page (2nd).
Hmm. Article posted above by zytolda, says she is working on the 3A?
Yet, she only did 2A's here? And got flat GoE for it in SP?

Well, it's early... season hasn't really started yet.
At least she got +GoE on everything else, and level4 steps in SP.
Maybe we'll see 3A later, like we did in 2014-15 season.
Erm...and level 4 spins...! (LSp2 in SP?! o_O)

She is still working on the 3A in a harness. It is still far from being included in her programs.
But there are other ways to increase TES. Getting those levels sorted out is one (a perennial issue with Mishin skaters), back loading more jumps is another and thirdly, going for 3Lz-3T. I hope Mishin doesn't neglect all these to just focus on that 3A.

Actually, this is very good from her this early in the season. I went back in the thread, and this is what she did in September 2014:

That was the season she went on to become World Champion, of course. She did similar the next year - when... well... things did not go so well. That's why I was especially interested in seeing what her FS would look like. If it had been something like above, I would have drawn no conclusions from it one way or the other. But her landing all these triples this early on, is a very good sign of her being in good shape.

Not that I wouldn't have loved it if she had landed that 3A.;)
