Anna last. She has skated very good programs as a last skater, but I still don't like that position. It's too long since warm up. Let's see.

The infamous Mordovian Ornament event last season?

Depends on what is a major international event for you. She hasn't won Europeans or Worlds as you know, but has two bronzes from the last two Europeans (I hope she won't get another bronze this year, of course) She won the 2015 Mordovian Ornament with huge scores.

Actually Anna could be called Bronze Queen. All her major medals are Bronzes. This is her year to break the bronzen curse.

I went to search for some Anna videos and dear lord the thumbnails are just so unbelievably horizontal on some of them. #Queen

It's unfortunate that she had those really tough skates and those are the first videos that pop up if you search for her. It's almost as if people love to watch that stuff and gleefully cackle behind their computer screen. Here on Goldenskate too...Pogofalls and doing a Pogo, you sometimes spot those terms for spectacular falls. She is a Queen alright. The Queen who stood up and showed it all to her naysayers who only reduce her to meltdowns. I'm of the believe that those programs were Anna's 'puberty'. The phase most go through at one point. Can't be changed that this is out there now, it's part of her history. And it makes her journey so much sweeter, imho.

I agree that the falls/struggles have only served to make her a stronger competitor. One day she'll probably even say they helped her grow as a person and deal with real life situations. Best of luck to her in the FS although I will be hoping mostly to see Nicole get another PB

Do you remember her result at 2010 US Nationals?

If Anna can continue build her consistency, she will pass Evgenia one day, or if she can just pull off backloading jumps in the SP next season. What makes Anna unique is she is not afraid of falling, and mostly likely, she is used to bad falls to the degree she knows how to avoid injury from those falls.

I'm dying to see Anna break her bronze medal curse! She deserves even better than that but you know.. I hope she just keeps performing like this and smiles afterwards.

Maria has said that she is excited to share the same ice with Carolina who is her favorite skater. So sweet to see the fangirl side of hers. From icenetwork article: "Also, I must say that I'm really excited for tomorrow's practice and Friday's free program, as I will be skating on the same ice as Carolina Kostner. She has always been my favorite skater,"
