2012 TEB Ladies Short Program SP

Yaaay Polina. She actually is one of my favorites among the Russian ladies it is SUCH a pity her jumps are not more consistent. I think she is a more graceful skater and feels the music more than Tuk, Julia, or certainly Alena and I think she has better skating skills as well. But she either is really on or really not. I'd be delighted if this trend could continue for her.

just 54?? yes, the judges are fairly strict today She maybe lost a level in the CCoSp... And, yes, if she didn't do 8 full revolutions before the Biellman it was a level 2. And maybe the GOE of the loop: it wasn't a 100% full rotation, maybe a 90%, if you understand me, she often has this kind of problem...

Yeah... I would give about 56-57 for this performance... but it's the technical score, which means that her jumps might be underrotated or her spins didn't receive high levels... Her PCS seems appropriately high, which I am happy about.

Exactly. If Gao can get 52.55 for her mistake filled program, then Polina K deserved at least 57 - probably more. For there to be only 1.95 marks between Gao and Polina is just ludicrous

Polina reminds me of Alissa if she could land her jumps. As for Gao she really has come along as a more graceful skater. All the people getting on Gracie for being just a jumper need to see how Gao has improved her skating in just a year. She used to be all about the jumps but now has a graceful style about her.

I've never seen her short before - but she's a history of messing up her short (to come back strong in the free), hasn't she? But great job - just well done to her!
