2013-2014 Programs by Discipline

Thanks for sharing! She's a fast little skater. I'm looking forward to seeing how she develops. Someone with such long limbs has great role models right now in Yuna Kim and Carolina Kostner.

I think the choreography could use some refinement, but it's also SO EARLY. The way she zips around it's like a hummingbird.

I hope people don't get on Polina if she's not a National champion by the time she's 17 and give up on her . She has lots of potential but with those long limbs it might take her more time then usual to reach the top. Just look at Kostner it took until she was about 24 to hit her peak. Only problem is in the US there are always other girls ready to take your spot if you struggle while Carolina always knew no matter how bad she bombed she didn't have any competition at home that was going to replace her.

^Phantom of the opera? Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Having just watched the webcast of the Broadmoor Open, all I can say is this:

Men, Jason's Riverdance has set the benchmark. Good luck trying to top that artistically. My bold prediction is that no-one will.

According to Akiko's blog, her new programs are….

SP: Hymne à l'amour choreographed by Massimo Scali
FP: The Phantom of the Opera choreographed by Pasquale Camerlengo
Well, POTO is not a "new" choice, not as original and wonderful as "O", but I think that she can do well with it. I don't think many people thought that her Bat program was going to be as beautiful as it actually was... I hope that it won't be too dramatic, though, I love when she smiles and has programs with an happy-ending!

I am intrigued. I can't buy access to the webcast, so can you share your impressions?

Very nice. Her jumps seem to be improving, those jumps look a whole lot more rotated than they were last year. Still think there's work to be done to perfect this program, but hey it's the summer.

I really hope someone uploads J. Brown's Riverdance because judging from the reaction form it, it's worth seeing.

So do I. I believe the videos may be available on demand, if you pay?? I might do that, just to see Jason.

Polina seems even faster then last year. Let's just hope she doesn't grow right out of the sport though she's getting awfully tall. She has the makings of a champion i think.

I'll do more than share my impressions. ;) I widgeted with my computer to bring you...

Jason Brown - SP - Prince

Jason Brown - LP - Riverdance

Even if you didn't like his SP last year, give this year's a shot. It's been partially rechoreographed and I think he pulls it off with a lot more sass than last season - so sassy it's borderline suggestive.

Riverdance is too short ATM but IMO that's probably a build-him-up thing, since he's probably not fully adjusted to training at altitude yet. He clearly runs out of puff at the end (not surprising) but this is a really super program.

Thank you so much for the videos! :)

Wow! That was everything a Latin piece should be. I see that she used some of Tukt's FS music from 2011 -- a wise decision, IMO.

She seems to have filled out some since Junior Nationals (legs slightly broader and more muscular), so the fact that her jumps have actually improved is a tentatively optimistic sign of things to come.

Thank you! Riverdance is going to be amazing. I absolutely loved the first straightline step sequence. It gives him a chance to show off his musicality during the build-up of the music.

Thanks for the vids, karne

I agree the SP is a great improvement. You can tell he's a lot more settled with it, giving the extra sass he put in the end. And also, I think he bulked up a bit, so he doesn't look like a skinny boy skating to Prince.

And Riverdance, oh...that's going to be amazing. That straightline step sequence! My legs hurt just watching him!

And apparently a lot of other folks love it:

Alexa Scimema's Twitter:
Got chills watching @jasonbskates practice today! His long program is INCREDIBLE! Can't wait to see him compete this year!!! #amazing

Skating Lesson (not sure if it's David or Jenny):

Obsessed with @jasonbskates new Riverdance program.
