Did he land any quads/3A?

In reality, even just to qualify for Sochi, quads and/or 3A should be necessary. If he doesn't have quads and/or 3A, I just don't see him going to Sochi.

When you think about it, every man on the podium at US Nationals this year at the very least ATTEMPTED a quad (two of the four landed theirs, and a third got rotation), and most of the top ten did too. To even touch Max Aaron he's going to need at least three quads, let alone beating him (since Aaron's Axel actually takes off forward, rather than backwards like Lysacek's...). Ross Miner was already landing a quad last season; I'm sure it'll be stronger this season. And don't forget the young guns...I'm sure the summer has done Joshua Farris' quad the world of good and his 3A is easily the best among the US Senior men. And if Jason Brown really is landing a quad as he is rumoured to be, then the rest of the field can just forget it!

Honestly, Lysacek, if the comeback happens (which again, I'll believe it when I see it), is going to struggle to make the top five, IMO. Sochi is long gone for him. And even more honestly...they'd be mad to send him.

Alexandra Aldridge & Daniel Eaton USA have announced their music choices on youtube

Their short dance sounds like it will be a lot of fun.

I think this is the first time I have heard of anyone using Scooby Doo in seniors!

There is a little less detail on their free dance:

For Free Dance - Their coaches wanted something along the lines of "Dancing With The Stars" so they are going with music from the Birth of the Swerve album by Detroit's Atomic Fireballs, the same group that is performing Man With a Hex for their short dance.

(I personally have chosen a different music for myself the next season.) Well, everyone plays safe for the Olympic year...

Oh-kay.... ? Whoever came up with this line apparently thought it was so brilliant it had to be repeated ad nauseam. Thankfully, I don't watch ice dance so it's no skin off my nose...

Note: Anarkali (Pomegranateblossom) is a legend from the Mughal era; the ill-fated love story between Anarkali and the Emperor's son, Saleem.

Wow, thank you for the link with Dai's music. I am a professional violinist myself, but didn't know this Japanese composer and his violin piece. Very interesting music choice. I am looking forward to it, especially because Miyamoto is the choreograph. Hopefully there will be not so many music cuts. I never thought I would learn to know a new violin piece thanks to a figure skater!

I hope we don't see Michal posing around the ice "smoking a pipe" and looking thoughtful.

That ranks right up there with the Steve Martin "King Tut" gestures to Egyptian music or the "shooting the arrow" choreography to Robin Hood.

Those types of "special touches" seem second rate, and (like so many things lately) they annoy me.

LOL. I like Evan but that costume was a little much. Not Urmanov-esque, by any stretch, but still...

I've always wondered... are the details on a costume of that sort visible in an arena? Because they're not on TV. Or maybe I just don't notice them because the costuming of a performer is not that important to me.

Some info on the composer and music for you, in case you might be interested:
The composer Mamoru Samuragochi was born in Hiroshima in 1963. His parents (both) were exposed radiation in the atomic bombing which hit Hiroshima on Aug 6, 1945. It is not clear whether he was affected by his parents' radiation, but he eventually started losing his hearing ability since age 17, and completely lost it by age 35 (around 1998). He seems to be very sensitive as a person and had lots of hardships whole his life (to name a few, by commiting suicides), but continues composing while mentally ill and still seeing doctors/taking medicine.
Among his pieces of works, 'Symphony #1 Hiroshima' was composed in 2003 dedicating to all these victims. In 2013, he composed 'Piano Sonata Requiem' to dedicate it to all the victims of Mega Earthquake which hit Eastern part Japan in March 2011. Not many Japanese (me included) were familiar with this composer very well, until this requiem was aired on TV and NHK had a special documentary program focused on him.
This piece 'Sonatina for Violin' was specifically composed for one Japanese girl violinist (iirc, age 12 now) who congenitally doesn't have her right arm below elbow. Her name is Miku (not Muku, sorry my mistake) Okubo. You will see younger Miku in this video (a special 'Thank-You' to giulia95! ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5XRrrsgjco&feature=youtu.be , where she played 'Over the Rainbow' and Mao skated to it in 2008. I am no musician, so I have no way of knowing, sadly, if Samuragochi did pay, lots of or to some degree at least, considerations/attention for someone without right arm upon composing. As a professional violinist, do you see it with this piece, Willemijn?

Daiuske says in the interview that he himself picked up the music, based on his intuition, among a couple of candidate pieces selected by Miyamoto. Dai's goal is to visualize this beautiful piece of music with his whole body and blade works, so that it may be of some help to Mr Samuragochi the composer, who is unable to hear how it actually sounds even though he did compose it himself, to see the music through Dai's body movements.

Well, I would say Black Swan is perfect for Evan because he does not have to worry about the 'color' at least. And noone complains. I am more curious on his LP costume!, since the music is Samson & Delilah. He sure needs some colors other than his normal simple blackish uniform.

Hehe. Perhaps he can borrow Charlie's. He doesn't seem to be skating to "Samson & Delilah" again with Meryl anytime soon.

I'm so happy that he's doing a tango! It'll be such a great change from his gorgeous classical style.
