Thanks, @dorispulaski, for all your postings on these events.
Can anyone point to favorites or up & coming skaters to watch among the results?
I'm sure it is fun for the skaters and families to attend these events and qualify for the next level.

Does anyone know if Kevin Reynolds has a BYE for Challenge or his season is over now?

I don't know...he may have a bye as a past BC/YT champion. or something, but all four senior men met the minimum TES requirement for Challenge (30 in the free skate).

But Also there are wild card entries, and he could get a spot there.

From the Anniuncement

JUNIOR AND SENIOR EVENTS: Junior and Senior competitors who place first, second, third and fourth (first through eighth inclusive in Quebec) in each of the Sectional qualifying events and meet the requirements in regulation 520 (10.)(b)(i), may be selected to represent the Section in the respective Skate Canada Challenge, but the selection of fewer than four entries (eight entries in Quebec) shall be at the discretion of the Section Executive.
(b) ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRIES FROM SKATE CANADA SECTIONALS (i) (c) BYES (i) (d) MINIMUM TECHNICAL SCORES: competitors must also meet a minimum qualifying score according to the guidelines announced annually by the High Performance Development Committee on or before July 1. In the case that a section has no competitors who have met the minimum score guidelines for a given category, the section has the right to enter one competitor in the category.

BYED SKATERS: Those who have been granted byes through Sectional qualifying events (see Byes Policy in Policies and Procedures) may enter their Skate Canada Challenge event or Canadian Figure Skating Championships event (or qualifying round at Canadians) as applicable without further qualification.

WILD CARD ENTRIES FROM SECTIONALS (i) ALLOCATION OF WILD CARD ENTRIES FROM SECTIONALS: Once the total number of qualified entries is determined as is defined in paragraph 520 (10.)(a), (b) and (c), wild card entries will be allocated so that warm-up groups for each category are filled. In all cases, i. ii. Wildcards will continue to be allocated until all 10 warm-up groups for Pre-Novice Women and Novice Women have been identified or there are no remaining athletes who meet the minimum eligibility requirements as identified in 520(10)(b)(i); For other categories, if there are fewer than five warm-up groups, wildcards will continue to be allocated until five warm-up groups have been filled, or there are no remaining athletes teams who meet the minimum eligibility requirements as identified in 520(10)(b)(i). Wildcards will be allocated first considering the next highest sectional qualifying score meeting the minimum qualifying technical score, until the warm-up groups are filled.

(e) ALTERNATES: The next placed competitor in each Sectional event may be nominated as an alternate entry and may replace an entrant who has withdrawn before the start of the event. Click here for more detailed information on the Challenge Minimum Technical Score

Big edit on this post.

Kevin Reynolds did not have to compete at sectionals as he is one of only 3 BC men who did not get an automatic bye to challenge. Firus has a bye to nationals due to his bronze medal at the last Canadians ( even though he did not get a senior GP event. Mitchell Gordon had a bye to challenge because of the Autumn Classic assignment.

As there were fewer than 5 non-byed men in BC , Kevin could use any FS TES score from October 20 2013 to meet that minium requirement. I know his last competed competition was at the autumn classic in 2014 and I am sure he had at least 30 TES in his free skate there.

Therefore based on the rules Kevin should be able to go to challenge to compete for a spot at nationals.

It is different from the Najarro situtation in ladies last year as there were more than 4 non-byed senior ladies competing in central Ontario last year.

Therefore Kevin should be able to compete at the challenge.
