But the quality was really not that great. Mao's jumps are better in quality. Much better.

On the positive side... even with jump mistakes, Annas overall skating has improved SO MUCH. I loved the steps.
Both Elena and Anna will be back tomorrow with a vengeance I'm sure!

My guess is that they surprise her? I'm not sure. My falls are always jarring
so I'm probably not the best expert.

agreed, PCS isnt consistent
And while (I actually did love Medvedeva's performances - reminded me of a mix of Adelina and Yulia) I thought her PCS were overly generous for a senior debut.
Anna is always so up down, must be really frustrating, her falls are super disruptive, I still remember that horrible fall at GPF last year where she held her back after

And even so, Clean jumps =/= PCS.
Heck, even Skating skills alone should not equate to PCS, though I agree SS>Clean jumps in considering PCS.
Hmmm I thought this would be an interesting competition. Disappointing, really. Mao looked incredible; refreshed, energetic and seemed to be delivering killer content. But the slow-mo was really terrifying to see, she still has an uphill battle (though so far she's still my bet for gold at worlds).
Rika Hongo I thought was a bit underwhelming? And I liked her a lot last season. Though good for her getting second place here! Both Russians faltering was unexpected. I expect to see one of them climb up to the podium tomorrow though... No 4-5 Russians in the GPF this year.
