2015 Worlds Ladies Short Program March 26

I am so nervous for Diva Wagner. I'm gonna be white knuckling it until the end of the SP.

Best of luck to her, Tuktamysheva, Gold, Radionova, and Murakami!

Ladies SP is theoretically at a really great time for me: starts at 1:30pm.

Only it's Thursday, so I'll be at work, and unfortunately, I'll probably be finished after they're done

Fingers crossed for Brooklee and Liza! :yay:

Terrible time for me. I have to be up at 4am to watch the last group, so I can't either stay up or wake up early: I have to leave by 6.45 everyday and a nap after the end of the SP would surely make me late. Not having a nap after SP would surely make me sleep in the middle of the morning :drama:

Guess I'll try to wake up. Will probably change alarm music to heavy metal or something of the sorts.

Why do you say that? She's among the top ladies in results this season, especially with a bronze at the GPF. How would you propose it be changed? Or is it just bias against Ashley that makes you say that?

The overwhelming problem is that skate order determines results to begin with. Perhaps the skate order should be entirely drawn at random to help eliminate this problem and the bias in scoring. But that wouldn't work with a lot of live television coverage, which usually covers the last two groups because they are the most likely to be in medal contention, and what most people have interest in watching.

I have nothing against Ashley and will be delighted if she medals. I just gave her as an example of a top skater who might skate in the first group if the system were different. Any top skater's name could have been used.
If the new system of judging really works, then a skater should get the same score no matter when she or he or he and she skates. Personally, I want to watch all of them skate. And considering how hard most all of them work, they deserve to be watched. A random draw would be fairer though not perfect imo and then, of course, we might have AN Ashley Wagner and other top skaters skating in the first group. The judges need to be unconditioned from the thinking imposed by the current approach. Question: What is the highest finish ever at Worlds of a skater in the first group? If I were a skater, I certainly wouldn't want my chances downgraded by the system even before I hit the ice.

Someone posted a schedule for all time zones I believe. Maybe they could post it again as there seems to be some confusion about when the lady's sp will start.

The Ladies SP starts approx. four hours from now.

Once again, the ISU skating channel has a countdown clock (visible even to those for whom ISU streaming will be geoblocked):

I guess we will really see what Ashley is made of. Skating last at a World Championship will not be easy.

This...

I swear, it's almost deliberate. That, and Gold skating right after Tuk...skate gods are doing everything in their power to keep the US ladies drought going :eek::hopelessness::laugh:

See post #168 of this thread -- a few posts above yours.

It has a link to the ISU countdown clock, which says streaming will start approx. two hours and thirteen minutes from now.

ETA:

So, I'm thinking from the start of the SP about 3 hrs. until Ashley skates?

The detailed schedule with the exact time for each skater:

Mrs. P rocks!

Shanghai is GMT + 8. It will be like 0230 in UK when the SP starts at 1030 in Shanghai. However, the final group skates around 1500 which will work out to be 0700. So you wake up to a bright new day and you can grab an early morning coffee to watch Tuks kick off from that group.
