This is totally random, but how come no one does step sequences around the rink anymore? I used to think that worked well for fast-paced pieces, and was wondering after watching some 90s figure skating the other day

The level requierments for step sequences make them too complex for that now. Now they're mostly meandering clusters of semi-musical steps. Very few skaters can make them work with 6.0 era levels of excitement.
