is there any chance of her doing the JGP????

You mean Daria, right? She is one of the substitute at the last two events, so there is a chance but if Polina is fit to skate then Daria's chanches are slim to none but if Polina isn't fit to skate then maybe she might be the one who could replace her. Although, at the moment Stasya and Sofia has only one event and if they do well at their first event then they would most likely be the ones who would replace Polina.

Can someone explain to me the twist at 1:07? It is first time ever I see that someone needs to stop to do twist. Usually the partner throws the female up and the female at the same time travels forward because the partner doesn't need to stop and yet when he is catching her, she is exactly where he needs her. Here If Bobrov didn't stop, he would probably skate under her and she would land behind him. Weird! Bobrov competed at JGP a few years back and at that time he knew how to throw his partner up, so why here she flies only up and not up and forward?

I was wondering the same thing! Maybe she's new to pair skating and she has trouble with throw jumps...

Btw I really like their free program. The music is nice and the choreography is good. I suppose Sergei Komolov is the choreographer ?

I spotted her on youtube about a year ago and I was impressed! And I still am. She is very talented. Good height on her jumps, good technique, powerful skating. There are a lot of competitions yet to come and I am sure she will improve and be a in the top group sooner or later.
Kostornaya :(
Pity about the combo mistake/fall.
She was one who I kept an eye on last year.

Panenkova is so slow. I can't think of anyone who jumps so well with such poor skating skills...I like Kurakova. She looks like a mini Radionova. Who is her coach?

That's what I noticed about Panenkova last season (lack of speed). I think she's improved a little in that department but still not my cup of tea.

Kurakova is the russian Kanako Murakami, she has soft knees but gets a lot of underrotations. :slink:

Panenkova isn't that impressive, she is how Pervushkina would be if she was more consistent.

I think there is a lot of potential in this tiny little girl. I mean, she is still a kid, can't quite project women's skating with her body, but her hands and her face have that special feel of big talent. She seems to listen, filter and emanate the music, there is a bit different touch to her skating than other Eteri girls.
For example, there was usual stacking up jumps in the second half, but she executed it so nicely and fluently, that I didn't feel program was unbalanced at all. That's a nice skill to have at 12. :)
