Oh, I thought their FD was "Singing in the Rain". It's something else altogether. The SD was also different than I was expecting, the music cuts don't really work for me. Oh well.

Lewis & Bye's blues number is "Save My Soul," also by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

Gunter & Wein used "Rush, Rush" and "Vibeology" in their Paula Abdul SD, along with "Straight Up."

It is titled "Singing in the Rain," but is a completely different song than the well-known one.

Thanks a lot, Iris81. Their SD seems light and fun - the music cuts are not ideal, but maybe that will change in the course of the season.

I like the FD, except that it shows Piper's not very good posture. Maybe one of the points of this FD is to work on it. A pity for her fall and the lift that did not quite work out in the end, but I guess that's what showings like this is for (at least partially) - to get the major kinks and mistakes out of the way early.

EDIT: She needs the other half of her FD costume back. But very innovative tango.
Well, her dress is very much them. I would not expect them to wear something conventional (at least for most programs).

I like the concept don't get me wrong. For my personal taste it just looks so jarring next the other half that I find quite elegant.

More importantly though I'm impressed by the work shown. They're in a very good place for this point in the season.

If rumours are to believed both S/K and S/B have tangos. It will be interesting to see how they compare or if other teams will join the bandwagon.

I am interested in that too. I expect that Sinitsina/Katsalapov's and Stepanova/Bukin's tangos will be more traditional choreography wise - especially S/K's. Whether they can capture the mood of tango is another question (Gilles/Poirier do it in their own way - Piper is performing outwards more as almost always, although they are trying to show the man and woman relationship in this dance at least a bit), but I am keeping my mind open.

FD song is Hymne a L'amour (originally performed by Edith Piaf, but I'm not sure if it's her version).
This version is sung by Patricia Kaas. Her voice is unmistakeable (as is Piaf's voice, of course) if you have heard her singing at all (knowing that it's her).
