2016-2017 Programs by Discipline

This is the Liza's first costume I actually like. Simple & effective. Alas the SP costume is all wrong as per usual. Whoever designs for Liza doesn't follow basic rules. Liza is rather small she needs every trick to elongate her figure visually. That little cardigan or shirt or whatever it is cuts her in two and makes her look even shorter than she is. She should stick to mono colour, vertical lines, simple cuts. Hope she keeps this little black dress (but ditch horrible gloves please)

I'm pretty sure this dress (plus the gloves) is one she's been using for EXs, so I wouldn't count on her keeping it for this program.

After two years off I was expecting them to be rustier, but they look good to me.

According to them, they've been sure of returning to competition since last summer. So they've been spending months preparing for this already. I do wonder if they plan on coming out looking ready with their programs though as opposed to building them through the season as they normally do.

Huh? Do you mean according to Tessa and Scott?? If so, what is your source for what you are attributing to them???

In today's LFP video of the media availability at HPC, Tessa and Scott said only that in the fall they worked on getting into shape "as if" they were going to come back -- "in case" they did decide to come back.
They did not say that they were sure at that point.
Toward the end of the vid, Scott said that folks in Ilderton knew before they made the official announcement ... but he did not say as far back as the summer.

Don't understand what you are saying.
Do you mean that you wonder whether they intentionally will hold back on some difficult elements early in the season??

My two cents are that I expect that they will perform their programs now in their current state of readiness (without holding back anything) AND that they will continue to build them throughout the season as they normally do.
They will do both, IMO -- come out looking as ready as possible and continue building the programs.

To be honest, I don't know what to think of this supposedly SD to Prince's 'Kiss'. I don't know what to make of it and I love V/M's skating but this program :scratch2:
What you don't like about it? Prince and 'Kiss'? What we can see of the choreography? The step sequence? Something else?

I love Prince's 'Kiss' ... I guess that's the problem. I can't connect the choreography (to the segment that was shown) to the music.

Tessa and Scott mentioned that they were driving to The Great Wall of China when they discussed their future and the come back fell into place. That was in August 2015.

Thx for the article from Feb :).
Not a big whoop, but I actually find it confusing ... Tessa says the conversation in Aug was about "a dream world," but the author of the article says the decision became firm then.

In any case, I am excited that Tessa and Scott are returning :dance2:.

Kaitlyn Weaver/Andrew Poje SD music is: Black Velvet by Alannah Myles and Swingin’ by LeAnn Rimes. I saw it on tumblr but there was no source of information added.

There was a video briefly available of W&P's SD. Black Velvet was unmistakable. I don't know the LeAnn Rimes piece, but the second part could have been something like that. It was Swing, not hiphop or disco.

Meanwhile Petr Gummenik's LP is to
Bella Donna Twist, Créature de Siam, Clouds by Cirque du Soleil
