I wonder which way Frank and Gracie will go with the solo triple. 1 for 3 this fall doesn't inspire confidence but then again, even if she misses the flip she has the goods (and the PCS) to rebound in the long and still get top two. I guess It depends what matters more - taking the risk and if it pays off then she's all the better going into 4CC and Worlds or play it safe with the loop so she goes in more confident she won't have to trail Wagner if Ashley goes clean?

Really. Thanks StitchMonkey. I guess in a field as deep as the US and the rest of World have. A skater has to go for as many points as possible. Without Tuk at Worlds, I guess Gracie will have the highest Base Value in her programs. Is that correct?

BTW< Have the skaters arrived in town? I keep looking at The Weather Channel and they continue to talk about a drastic temperature change hitting the area this afternoon. Are there any locals who can shed some light on this subject.

The weather won't be terrible, as a Minnesotan, 20-30 degree weather is considered hot. But weather is bound to change.

I LOVE THIS COMMENT. Here in Clovis, Ca. it rained 3/4 of an inch and we are on "STORM WATCH". They even have a "Storm Warn" Team of Reporters that travel around town showing puddles in front of School's, The Airport, and The Mall. It's actually funny to the locals.

Another feather in Carly Gold's cap :):

A few days ago, Janet Shamlian of NBC News interviewed Carly and Gracie for the Today show and for NBC Nightly News.

Pretty cool  that Carly once again is bringing extra mainstream attention to figure skating (beyond the attention on Gracie alone).

I'm guessing that the interview will not air until to the Senior Ladies comp in St. Paul.

I had a dream the other night about the ladies SP results. Gracie was in first, somebody I've never heard of (who my brain probably made up :p) was in second, Ashley in third, and Karen Chen in sixth.

I really, REALLY hope Gracie brings the loop to the SP and ditches the flip. God, I hope she can relax when she skates this year. Also hoping she doesn't skate after Ashley this year, because we all know Gracie can't hack it skating after a stellar skate. Even if Ashley makes mistakes, she's probably going to bring the house down with her performance level and shake Gracie's confidence. Ideally, both ladies have awesome skates--I don't care who wins as long as they are 1-2--and they can boost their confidence for the rest of the season.

Agreed. It's better for both of them if Gracie skates first, and better for Gracie if she leaves out the flip. I seriously hope that dream you had comes true!

Gracie declared there will be no changes but she also said she is going to go for triples, no matter what.

I need a Charlie Brown Gif saying "Aaugh!"

Just change one measly jump! A 3Lo would've won you skate America! I think she's too proud to admit this is the wrong strategy. Sigh, I hope I'm wrong and she pulls this off.

Regardless of what Gracie does I hope it gets called fairly and consistently compared to other skaters. Someone should remind the tech specialist and the judges that a "!" does not require negative GOE, it is just to indicate there could be a problem.... use that button - it exists for a reason. A flip like Gracie's from TEB should get an edge call, but if they at least would give the bloody "!" it would be so much better.

:scratch2: Well, I just hope she fully rotates three revolutions even if she falls on the flip jump.

She said when she takes off, she always finds a way to rotate the jump fully like Evgeni Plushenko but I never trust her.:drama:But at Nationals she usually looks on so we'll see.

Like Evgeni Plushenko???? I love Gracie and I hope that quote didn't come from her. She's never been World Champion and she has no Olympic Medal of any color. All she needs to worry about is skating 2 clean programs. :drama:

I thought Gracie won Silver in the team event in Sochi ;)

She actually skated better in the team event but just happened to score higher in the individual

Oh that team event.....Well, when I saw Plushy win Worlds in 2001, there wasn't a team event so, I wasn't taking those into consideration.

Frank is not as smart of a coach as i thought he was if it was his idea for Gracie to go for the flip in the SP. You would think after going 1 for 3 with the flip in the SP this season he would make changes. :palmf:

Do you know what her percentages are in practice on the flip and whatever else she might replace it with?
