It drives me crazy when a skater wears over the boot tights and they start slipping off the skate and you see the white, Argh!!! Like Adelina at Sochi all over again. Is it really that difficult to properly secure them?

Tyler was a disaster last year at Jr Words after skating well at Nationals. Not sure they will trust someone who has finished 14th and 19th at Jr Worlds.

Particularly when boots are gratis at her level. (don't know this about Mirai specifically, but know it to be the case for other comparable skaters) Many coaches recommend a spare pair ordered ahead of the break down of the current boots and insist the new boots are brought to Nationals.
At this level, you are your equipment. Fine if there is a glitch, but wearing down is inexcusable for someone of Mirai's or her coach's experience.
