2016 US Nationals Senior Ladies SP

62.50? Is anyone not going to speculate on the overscoring? Comparing to Ashley: Ashley had 3 triples with a fall. Gracie had 1 tripe and an invalid element.

It's always possible Ashley missed spin/footwork levels, whereas Gracie is fairly consistent with those elements.

Hannah Miller~ purple and gold dress, middle eastern theme. Great performer, as always. Seriously underrotated on triple-triple, though good for her for going for it. Other jumps looked good. Actually maybe a step in the right direction. She might get her jumps rotated yet.

wow Polina! that was perfection! breathtaking! I always thought this girl was underrated. I hope she bags the title hehe : D

Sigh, yet another stinker of a US ladies nationals. I want a lot of redemption skates in the long :(

On the bright side, some of the Korean fans on the contraband stream were hilarious. Totally here for all their Wagner love!

So... at least Mirai's in the last group?

I'll take it<3

Overall, what a messy competition. Polina really deserves the lead. Gracie is placed too high, I think. Mirai and Tyler were low-balled a bit. It's clear who is in, who is out, and who is a maybe with the judges.

John Coughlin called it before the short program started that Ashley not skating well would be a bigger mental difficulty for Gracie because she would have a solid chance of beating her for the program. Total bummer! I LOVE this program so much.

I didn't like Ashley's SP music at first, but it has grown on me.

I think Ashley's got this. Her natural instinct to be in a hole is here, she is down in 4th and I think she'll do ANOTHER clean free! :) Although, I don't discount the fact that a semi-clean Gracie can win, the judges REALLY like her.

There were more ratified triple triples in the first group of Russian ladies' Nationals than in this entire event. :slink:

Gracie was majorly overscored here. I don't understand 2nd place for that.
