2016 US Nationals Senior Ladies SP

62.50? Is anyone not going to speculate on the overscoring? Comparing to Ashley: Ashley had 3 triples with a fall. Gracie had 1 tripe and an invalid element.

It's probably due to Gracie other elements having a higher BV than Ashley. Ashley's spins are weak. Her jumps doesn't have the same speed/flow out as Gracie's, etc.

I just realized that my work schedule changed beginning on Saturday. I used to work the evenings but now I am done by 5 California time and I'll get to actually watch a big chunk of skating!!

I kind of hope the standings look a lot different after the FS  This was kind of a mess of a competition.

Polina has all the qualities. I was writing her off early this season because her urs, but she has the nerves of Russians and that helps. Her inconsistency is probably related to how much she grows in the past two years, and hope she stops growing now.

I was thinking the same thing...apparently her mother trained under Mishin? She must know a few things about how to stay mentally strong. Hope Polina wins this...it would be a refreshing change.

To recap: Ashley and Gracie both mess up one major element-Ashley on you'd most expect and Gracie on what you'd never expect-Polina is brilliant and totally shuts down da haterz, Tyler is brilliant and proves I have good taste in surprise medalist picks :p, Mirai and Mariah were good, Courtney and Karen fall over and die , and if I didn't already have IN this would've been a waste of money.

But on a positive note, IN didn't quit on me at all! :cheer:

Well...didn't expect that outcome. At least Polina had a really nice program. I wish she would build of the fire she has is her short, and bring that to her long. Also, I'm glad Mirai has a chance, and is in the final group.

EDIT: I'm wondering if USFSA will send different teams to worlds and 4CC, like if Mirai ends up fourth and Gracie, Polina, and Ashley end up on the podium, could they send two of the skaters on the podium and Mirai to four continents, and the podium finishers to worlds?

Show of hands, was anyone expecting this at all? Maybe Gracie or Ashley, but both?!?!

I was hoping not, but I knew there was a chance. I'm really lucky I picked the better spin-and-footwork-level-getter to like or I'd be sobbing right now...horrible event aside from Polina and Tyler.

If the order stays the same we can argue about whether Ashley or third-place Tyler should make the Worlds team. :)

Golly, it would have been nice if my Anjelah Johnson tickets were for tonight. Watch the men nail it tomorrow, lol, and I miss it, ha.
