The scoring for this event (and the ladies in general for the whole year) have been completely beyond my understanding. The sport for the ladies is now dominated by Russian teenagers who can jump very well, but have poor skating skills to the rest of the field. I admit, they work hard to improve it and they should be happy that their improvement was reflected in the results. But I don't think that the scoring has been right for the whole year, or fair to those who have superior skating skills, such as Mao, Satoko, etc.
Sometimes, I like to try to make sense of the numbers the judges give out, especially when a new record happened. But today, I can't do that. Happy to see everyone skate well but I am very disappointed in the judging.
