Jump quality is +2 to +3 even without tanos. By far the cleanest jumps apart from the lutz. Backloading is like 2 points in total.

Oh please. Those jumps don't have the height or distance many ladies competing have. Also those axels are tiny. They are not the golden standard and not textbook.

Even if it was 2 points for backloading points are points. Ice is slippery. Clearly 2 points helped Satoko get over Elena. Let's not backload then as a strategy? She played a good numbers game.

She literally hasn't skated in 2 years. No shows, no programs, nothing. Yuna isn't coming back and they know it.

I didn't say she'd come back. Just that they'd try and pressure her. I hope she resist. I worry that she's lost her love of skating.

I think that Evgenia is a brilliant skater and unless Gracie or Ashley skates the FS of a lifetime she should win.

However,

Mao Asada should have never received a lower PCS in terms of interpretation or PE wth

and I do NOT believe that her jumps are as good as the scores indicate. The arm above the head is visually stunning and quite difficult - but the quality is just not there in terms of height/power.

In short, she should NOT have broken the WR and she is amazing.

Medvedeva's non-axels are the best. She actually does 3-3-3s constantly in practice, like replacing all doubles with a 3Toe, she also is practicing quad salchow. The landings are clean as well. Arm over head is difficult and not just a whatever.

Her lutz is bad of course.

I don't think I've ever seen Gracie skate to the level Zhenya just did. Personally WR under new rules and trends means nothing to me but I have to admit. I really think Zhenya could have been a real challenge for even Yuna in her prime. Zhenya is rock solid and while not the same skater brings a whiz of perfect Arsenal of energy and style. Love it or not....it shouldn't be downplayed.
