I guess you guys are right. Music should stand on it's own and be interrupted as the skater sees fit. Some music, for me, is hard to divorce from the film.

Like the couple who skated to Fallin' in the SP. I couldn't help feeling that was like tempting fate.

My point was that America's pretty well represented as it seems we have 5 Americans in the competition. What point is there that I was supposedly making or that one is supposed to get?

But yes, I at least think very differently of a Finnish runner representing czech republic and cheer for her always, perhaps you think differently.

What bothers me about your posts:

The U.S. is not over-represented in this competition.

If Nicole were to win a medal, I (as an American) would not claim for one second that her medal belongs to the U.S. in any way, shape, or form.
Same for Amy.

In terms of their skating, Nicole represents Slovakia, and Amy represents Taiwan.

This felt incomplete. I can understand how she edged out Nicole but her movements felt incomplete. She never looked at ease or happy to me. Also, the music and the movement didn't really go well together in some spots for me.
