I like Sofia Akatieva's skating skills: nice edges, long curves and abandon in steps.
She's "searching" her jumps though (like most of them at this age).

All right I can see that.
But everybody says that Konstantinova was overscored in PCS compared to Gubanova and I can't understand that at all. Stasya made mistakes and she was scored lower than she usually is. To me, Nastya's skating is bland and boring and looks like she's told what to do to make it look artistic and angelic. Her technique also looks... off to me and I don't understand why she gets the GOE that she does. So there, that's my unpopular opinion.

It's like jumping struggles caused her amazing hands look more 'mechanic' and her skating more 'on autopilot', don't know exactly why, but that's what I honestly see. Feel bad writing it, sorry Angel. :hopelessness:

I think that she was at her strongest expression-wise the season before her first JGP season. But I don't think that her jumping struggles could be the reason. Her jumps had serious issues even back then.

She too is very good for her age, but overall, even disregarding the jumps, I quite prefer Samodelkina's skating. I just don't "feel" Akatieva's skating all that much. But she has a lot of promise and that can come in the near future.

I would disagree. I see many japanese skaters - including Uno - landing waaaaaaaaay too low, almost on their knee.
While soft knees are good, I really dont think those low landings are good. At very least, its not how it is done textbook.
I really dont understand why people are so "omg amazing" about those low landings, as it totally scares me because of the injury risk.
