I like Sofia Akatieva's skating skills: nice edges, long curves and abandon in steps.

Boring program or not - those two performances would stand a chance earning medal in GP imo. :thumbsup:Polina's FS

I can't believe I'm saying this, but comparing Nastya from 2-3 years ago with this year herself, what you're saying is quite right. All right I can see that.
But everybody says that Konstantinova was overscored in PCS compared to Gubanova and I can't understand that at all. Stasya made mistakes and she was scored lower than she usually is. To me, Nastya's skating is bland and boring and looks like she's told what to do to make it look artistic and angelic. Her technique also looks... off to me and I don't understand why she gets the GOE that she does. So there, that's my unpopular opinion.
I think that she was at her strongest expression-wise the season before her first JGP season. But I don't think that her jumping struggles could be the reason. Her jumps had serious issues even back then.I can't believe I'm saying this, but comparing Nastya from 2-3 years ago with this year herself, what you're saying is quite right.
It's like jumping struggles caused her amazing hands look more 'mechanic' and her skating more 'on autopilot', don't know exactly why, but that's what I honestly see. Feel bad writing it, sorry Angel. :hopelessness:
Especially after what we saw at SC )Boring program or not - those two performances would stand a chance earning medal in GP imo.

She's "searching" her jumps though (like most of them at this age).

]Gubanova's programs are good. Either she didn't skate at full speed at this competition or the camera angle didn't show her well.
She has to be. She is in a tough spot :scard7:It seems she is more focused on her jumps and less focused on performance. She also seems a bit too cautious.

Her FS is obviously a work in progress. It will be more decorated at Russian nationals for sureI Love Polina’s free skate. Loved the SP since last year.
A number of Japanese skaters have that skill. Strong hips and soft knees. Uno is definitely a master.
I agree with Moriel. I'd take the Russian or American landings any day.
I don't like this kind of landing either.landing waaaaaaaaay too low, almost on their knee.
I don't like this kind of landing either.
But it is a good ability that can help to save a jump.

Woooow! :eeking: And what an amazing lutz technique!
