But he doesn't look like he's passionate about her... they don't have love chemistry

for me personally a piece consisting of characters and their specific relatioships/emotions should ot automatically impose on skaters that they have to be the same, imitate actual story told in ballet/opera etc. Of course - they can do that, it's up to them if they would take a piece and its story literally, or only as a point of departure towards their personal approach. But I do not see anything wrong to take on piece like 'Carmen' - even so strongly associated with story told by it - and just make a nice program, without portraying the emotions and relationship between main characters. And the fact that most of people project the story already on ice and state that it's not going to work, is up to personal preference. I actually think that taking such music like 'Carmen's' and make it intoa program without any references to its characters/roles played by them is much more interesting perspective to look at 'warhorse' program and choreography.

For me, regardless if they love or hate each other on- or off-ice, they have equal chances to pull of 'Carmen' FS like any other team with any other repetoire. What I can say is that I am very excited to see the program, because Ksenia and Fedor's last two season - and their Sochi season programs, too - proved for me that they can both work with abstract pieces, with modernity and not clear characters defined already and with music/pieces associated with certain characters and moods. The 'Carmen'prospect is especially alluring in my opinion due to Pasquale choreography and Ksenia's potential to not imitate Carmen herself, but to use her character, vivid image associated with it to create equally bold figure on ice with Ksenia's personality.

'Besame mucho' SP is very interesting choice, too - due to their soft, fluid skating skills and sophisticated, stylish image they can create together I think that the music and theme will be very suitable for them, like it was with 2013/14 SP to Jose Gonzales piece.

I actually don't automatically think Warhorses are bad, but it depends on who's skating to it and who the choreographers are and whether I think they can really sell the material. A Camerlengo-choreographed Carmen by Stolbova is extremely intriguing to me.

Blah blah blah warhorses are bad, etc, etc, - but I'm not going to lie - I am psyched to see Stolbova as Carmen. Moreso than any other current pair, St/Kl were born to do Carmen together.

But Diva Stolbova as Carmen will be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

agree with all 3 of You - can't wait to see the program!

This has way less to do with criticizing Vincent than with loving that program and performance from Alexa and Chris, ETA: and not understanding how any American fan or skater could not know that program. Lynn Rutherford has clarified on Twitter that she and Vincent were thinking of men's skates, so not so bad.

Although Vincent, and everyone else, should watch Alexa and Chris's Come What May from Worlds :love::love:

Other than the fact that Richard Dornbush skated to it... but i guess he is forgettable now? Boo no fair.

I agree, I dont remember that program.

Guess I must be a bad American skating fan, cause I don't remember it either :laugh2: Don't get the big hooplah over it either. Just because people skate in the sport doesn't mean they are a fan of watching others do it or that they are going to remember what other skaters, esp those not in their discipline, had skated to :confused2:

Could it just be he didn't watch pairs at Worlds? Kid was probably riding a high from winning Junior Worlds anyways. He does say "At least, I have never seen someone skate to it."

Ah hell, they skated to it recently? I went to the last 2 Worlds and can't remember what they skated to :slink: But I find pairs very forgettable :palmf:

Heck, I don't remember every program that every skater ever skated. But I'm sorry, if I'm a current senior American skater, I would remember what our best pairs team skated to five months ago at Worlds. I would remember what Karen Chen skated to at Worlds. I would remember what the Shibs skated to. And I wouldn't say no one has ever skated to it in my memory, if my memory of other programs is restricted to me;)

ETA: and yes, I love Alexa and Chris, and that is what struck me at first. But now I'm just awondering in general. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Not to mention poor Ricky D. .....

Do you think SK&K remember what Vincent was skating to at the beginning of last season?

My guess is that Moulin Rouge is not as popular among the juniors as it is among the seniors. So SK&K's Worlds performance was highly meaningful to you. OK. And Vincent's knowledge of skaters using his music is lacking. OK.

Moving on.

Huh??? My memory is restricted to me. Given sufficient time I can research a subject, access other people's thoughts, and make them part of my memory. But if I have to respond on the spot, I'm restricted to the memories I have on hand.

Perhaps Vincent should have anticipated being questioned about his music and done a thorough search of any and every skater who had previously used it. Or maybe he was just too busy with life, school, working his butt off in a cold rink in the hope of making the Olympic team...

As is almost every other skater at his level. Fact of the matter is, he needs to know what he's talking about, if he's going to be in the public eye and questioned about his skating.

No need to remember, I just googled ( Come what may+ Figure skating) in images and appear Alexa and Chris  https://www.google.com.mx/search?q=...UICigB&biw=1016&bih=548#imgrc=ouMHoaT-tii2lM:

Too bad that Vincent was not given a slot on the World team.

Maybe if he had been able to watch the Knierims in person in Helsinki, he would be familiar with their program and it would have made a lasting impression on him.

Don't people have better things to do than to rake a teenager over the coals for a gap in his knowledge?

I have tons of gaps in my knowledge (related to skating and otherwise).

One thing I do know is that I live in a glass house. Who among us does not?

Nah, I was there live and even I didn't remember  I do remember Haven/Brandon SP though

They are not. For the FS, he said she was skating to the Wicked soundtrack and it was obvious that wasn't the music!

Well I heard the LP before. Let me think about it. If no one else identify it, I can search my music collections. It sounds like something I own.

ETA: and just as I hit enter, music transition into Pogo's LP music
Went to Pogo's wiki and got this:

Yeah, just go to Pogo's wiki. She took the whole program.
First part is Modigliani Suite

Eta: wait, and Morozov is her choreographer :disapp:, ugh, way to recycle man.

Okay I think everyone said their piece about Vincent's new FS, the Ladies has been updated (for the most part) to include ladies who were at JGP Brisbane.

However, I need to identify Sophie Abrams music (she has not updated her ISU bio). Can you help?
SP:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=si71S1JlgL0
FS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSQWtYZc3jY

For the SP I got, Tchaikovsky - Serenade for Strings: Pezzo in Forma di Sonatina
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS1Le3VKFLk

Her music seems to start at the 56 second mark.
Hope this helps!
