2017 South Korean Nationals, 6-8th Jan.

Min Jung said that she and Na Hyun were on the same team before and then said something about her being a hard-worker or something? I missed the last part there.

Na Hyun beats Da Bin by 0.30! I wonder who they'll send to Worlds.

Only Dabin and Nahyun out of this final group.

This reminds me so much of the crop of junior Russian ladies leading up to the Sochi Olympics, and in the end, they could only qualify two for that Olympics, but had so much talent that came up afterwards. It looks like it may be the same for South Korea.

How many of these girls are old enough for senior competitions? It will be exciting to have more countries fighting for top spots in the future.

The bb trifecta (YY, Yelim, Eunsoo) aren't old enough as of yet.
Eunsoo and Yelim are age-eligible for seniors in 2018-2019

Overall, this was a very strong final group! South Korea is quickly developing one of the deepest ladies fields in the world!

Tough choice. Dabin edged out Na Hyun at SC, but only by one place... At least both will go to 4CC with who the next highest old enough lady. (Haejin?)

Looks like only Dabin and Nahyun again. Eun Soo and Ye Lim will only be 14 on July 1. And Young You is longer than that.

It would be exciting for Korea to have a strong ladies field in 2018, but it might be better for these two to wait for a fresh cycle to debut as seniors. I hope they stay healthy!

They should let the 4CC competition decide. (IMO)

Don't forget So Youn! She's also eligible next year, I hope her injury heals along with Nahyun.

I'm excited I get to see Eun Soo live at Junior worlds! I was sad because of how many skaters I liked moved to Seniors this year, but it looks like there will be a great group.

I personally favor Ye Lim so much as she has really nice jumps and when she skates, the flow is very smooth and elegance. On the artistry, she is not that stiff it's just her face expression that she needs to work on.

I agree! I feel Ye Lim is underrated! Her skating skills are excellent IMO.

Ugh, I totally forgot. Lame. Man it's going to be a tough fight even if they manage to get two spots.

True. I kept thinking whoever had the higher placement would go, but 0.30 is really close here. And also, the 4CC team was already decided in November as Da Bin, So Youn, and Na Hyun because of the ranking competition. However, if So Youn WD from there too, then yeah, it could be Haejin.

I am so not versed on all these domestic competitions. They sure compete a lot! Which is great in some ways.

It's been a long time since i've thought the results of a competition to be pretty straight on. I'm also happy with the result. Overall I think there is some score deflation, but as far as the ranking order the judges seemed to try to be fair and they didn't appear to play favorites at this competition. It really is a shame that Eunsoo and Yelim are too young for the Olympics. Eunsoo really can compete with the best of them if the judges give her a fair chance.
