She was speedier, had better coverage, though, and more on the attacking side of things. Mariah had better interpretation (there's more nuance interpretation demanded in her music, where as Cinderella you just have to be joyful, effervescent, charm.)

Mariah's interpretation was completely off unfortunately today, so the performance became incohesive just filled with moving from jump to jump, aimlessly flapping her arms (not pretty) and flurried steps. Her score is gifted.

On the other hand, Mai's package is a bit juniorish, but she amazed me with her fast speed and smooth SS as well as her soft and airy landings. Her interpretation is right for the program. I'm still not completely sold by her yet because of the package, so can't call myself a fan of Mai, but her redemption performance was very delightful.

(But also holding out hope she can snatch a bronze medal from the favorites. :hopelessness: Shut down every single person who complained about her as National Champion and the decision to send her to Worlds. It doesn't have a shot in heck of happening, but I can dream! At least a top 6 finish for her here would be a major victory, though also meaningless if she can't sustain any kind of success during the GP next season.)
