I don't know why but after the short for just the ladies I checked out. Maybe I had that feeling. I don't have a fav here although I root for most of the US ladies and Kostner but it looks like maybe 2 spots for the US. Oh well.

Maria's so lukewarm. Wajaba even woth more mistakes was more pleasing to watch, she wasn't sucked out of all life like Maria.

I can't tell if Sotskova is deliberately skating slow or if she's exhausted. There were some parts where it looked like she was panting to get to the next element.

Mashenka had a great start, but then went the way of Zabiiako and Enbert. Ooof.

The problem is JSF always tried to push Wakaba. This is the same girl that went to Jr World year after year and placed low low low. Always bombed. I don't know why they score her so high normally at home only to get slaughtered in international scenes. She's like Agnes Zadwazki. Inexplicably got good score at home, and got put in her place outside.
Next year, Wakaba is done.
Mai and Satoko are fighting for the second spot. This is why Satoko should have limped out there and done it. When was the last time she got less than 200?

Wakaba won two bronze medals in back-to-back Junior Worlds, and she skated amazing free programs both times. She has done poorly in some JGPs and GPs, but she doesn't bomb every time. She's not that different from Marin, who is also pretty inconsistent.

Bummer for Japan. If Wakaba had not fallen, she would have likely outscored Elisabet, maybe even Ashley, and kept the hopes for three spots alive.

I seriously cant even pretend to care about what just happened, I am so anxious about the rest of this group. Well, not Evgenia, since we all know she'll slay. But seriously :gaah: my nerves were NOT meant to withstand this...

That program has to be clean to be effective. She's a lovely skater, but when it's off, it's off. Still hoping Mai holds her off... but doubt it.
