2017 World Ladies FS

Zijun has 2nd highest TES, 5th and 2nd to last PCS so far. A drop of 6 points off her last PCS outing.

It will be interesting to see how much higher Xiangning's PCS climbed over 1 competition. Then again, I quite like her Princess Monenoke.

Good luck Mai, Japan needs you and you are a better skater than you were able to show. Gogo Mariah!

Robin had some nice things to say about Nicole Schott and her interpretation.

So Xiangning is the one that has a better Princess Mononoke arrangement than Elizabet?

Hoping for more clean skates from thos group of ladies. I love all of them but especially Mariah, Mai, Loena and Ivett!!!

Nadeshiko girls, you don't have to think about Olympic.
Don't need to feel responsibility, ignore Japanese media.
Do your best, just do your performance. Ganbare, Mai chan!

Uh, forgot Mai was so low :palmf:

She was sobbing her heart out after the SP so I hope she can skate well here, and be happy with her performance!

Anyone have a link to Eurosport? Loving this Russian stream but would love to listen to commentary in a language I understand, lol.

I find you guys exaggerate about the camera shots (though there are occasionally some bad close-ups at the wrong time). I thought the last skater's final spin for example was quite effective and interesting viewed from that angle. Oftentimes the pairs' footwork sections were quite more interesting to see from that angle also, to see patterns and ice-coverage, not just their movements. We're just used to always seeing the same up-close shots, and I guess people get jarred by the change. Myself, I've been enjoying the sky-cam shots more often than not.

While I'm not a fan of the camera man I'm not sure there is truly a reason to wish death on him

That's what the Canadian ladies said at the press conference. We just need to skate well and let the places take care of themselves. Of course, they were in a good position after the short.

Close-ups are okay, Zoom outs as if the cameraman was carried by Totoro up to the roof is just unnecessary.

Sorry to gayify a figure skating thread more than it already inherently is by default...but does Mariah's blush and contouring game look a little over the top to anyone else?

Rafael might want to limit the time she spends with Rohene at the next comp...

Nicole Rajicova was one of those skaters on the periphery of the US National system, placing 12/12 in Novice and 12/12 in Junior the two years she made it to Nationals back when she competed there.

I'm glad to see she's been able to advance.

Oh what a pity on the lutz... this is turning out to be a very nice program, I like the music construct that is contemporary with acoustic rhthmic build up sections.

She's doing it! Nicole's doing the thing! THe successful skate thing! This is the first time Ive seen her so the thing!
