2017 World Ladies FS

I gotta say I'm very surprised that Osmond beat Daleman. I though Daleman was going to get silver after her clean skate and those 2 small errors from Osmond. I'm confused about that one.

Wow congratulation to Canada especially Kaetlyn.

Medvedeva is goddess!

And my favorite Mai who (deservedly) has second highest tes score.

Well the top 3 are there and its correct (Though I would have Gabby over Kaetlyn and the scores of the top 3 should be much closer to each other). But anyway Congrats to all!!!!! :hap10:

*while mourning for the lost spot for Japan...*

Oh Canada, Oh Canada! The Habs are going to the playoffs with one of the best records and Kaetlyn and Gabby are finishing their season as #2 and #3, respectively, in the World. The month of April is so sweet!

Just want to say again, CONGRATS to Karen. So many do not give her the credit she deserves and many more just several months ago thought she should change coaches. She continued doing what she always does and what can be said about the 2017 season other than, Karen Chen is the US Champion and months later put up a showing at Worlds that very few thought she would, well done kiddo!

The nice thing about having so many favorites is that I'm thrilled by almost any combination of skaters on the podium, or even in the top 5 at this event!!! The sad thing is knowing that some of your other favs were less fortunate today :/

Had Satoko shown up, she would have been 4th at worst. This is ridiculous. JSF paid dearly. Good riddance to the 3rd spot.

Or she would have been out of top 10 since she would have skated injured. In the end, Japan's team is not that strong anymore. It will be in the next couple of years because they have a very strong bunch of juniors. But now, it is what it is - next season, the top two Japanese girls will have to fight for those two spots.

Major congrats to Medvedeva for doing her interviews in English now. Speaking publicly in a second language is nerve-racking as all hell

literally crying tears of absolute joy right now for Kaetlyn and Gabby!!! I don't think I've ever been happier watching figure skating ever. what an amazing accomplishment, and well deserved. absolutely gutted for my fave Russian Anna, but so awesome for Evgenia. she is such an unstoppable queen!

Well, Kaetlyn did have a 3.5 point lead in the short over Gabby...

I just recovered enough and finished texting people to be able to post

It looks like her free foot might not have touched down on the 3T. If it didn't, the combo was sloppy but clean.

I would've been happier with a silver for Gabby over Kaetlyn, but really, no complaints!

US keeps their spots.

Japan loses their spots :(.

3 spots for Canada!

Lots of bombing/not so great skates aside from Mai, Evgenia, and the Canadians.

Karen Chen in 4th = HOLY COW GOOD FOR HER - keep up the momentum, no more boot problems, slay on the GP.

Canada reminds the world that with all the hyped-up Russian and Japanese ladies coming up from juniors that they've got some grown women ready to kick some butt. It's nice to see maturity and years of struggling win out, though of course the Russian prodigy Evgenia very deservingly won the day.

Congrats Karen!!!! 4th is beyond many people's expectations!!
Be proud with all the hard work you put into.

This is the Canadian year though.. amazing race to the end, nail biter to the end.

Well done Zhenya, Solid as a rock. Ridiculous scoring but hey alot of reasons i won't go into with Olympics coming up and alot at stake. Looks like OGM is squarely on your shoulders...

Wow, I really thought the scores would be closer with Kaetlyn and Gabby. But it doesn't matter, they both deserve to be on that podium---huge props to them both.

we always believed in our girls!!!! it's been a couple years we see them on the rise!

I will post later as other duties call me and GS is so slow i actually turned it off during the last 12 skaters

But I had to say this : Congratulations to the medalists !!!!

AND WOW Kaetlyn and Gabby !!!! way to show how strong and beautiful you are !!!!!!

And of course, let's rejoice that Canada will get 3 spots next year.... it's been a blood bath at nationals for the last couple years and now our girls can aspire together !!!!!

Two Canadians in the top 3! It's almost unbelievable. Canadian ladies program is the strongest it's ever been by absolute miles.

Amazing and amazed!

Incredible after such a bitter splatfest for so many others. Enjoyed it regardless of a stuttering feed.

Kaetlyn and Gabby showed the down to the wire competitiveness that has characterized the senior women's event at Canadian nationals the last 4 years. Here's to skating last!!!!

And heart and joy to Alaine, who can focus on the task of joining them at the Olympics next year.
