ASHLEY:sad4: My heart is hurting I so wanted her to do better. That first missed combo really threw her off and she was never quiet in it after that. But talk about Karen coming in clutch!! Soo proud of her and the fact that we got three spots! Canadian women I can't even hate they brought it so hard. The less said about Evegenia and her simple miming the better..... Overall a pretty weak event for me, especially after last years worlds.
And Karen quietly but assuredly showed her naysayers who's the boss :hap85:. Writing on message boards is much easier than sweating 30 hours a week.
Just checking the results. The real surprise is that Anna fell so far behind. Any reason for her mega bombing??

:hap85:

I also want to add that is why i hate slanted panel and disagree with it in principle.
You have a faulty junior
Maria get 64.79 in PCS,
a absolute disasterous Anna get 62.86
a mistake ridden Kostner still get 71.03.
Then you get these near clean as personal best performances receive these sort of PCS
Karen 64.33 (Lower than Maria)
Mariah 60.92
Mai 63.89
Dabin 58.73
Elizabet 58.15
Zijun 49.54 (How come her TES only beat Anna's disasterous TES by only 0.96 points???)
How can this competition not looking like rigged towards the Europeans in particular the Russians?!
Pogo is due for a melt down. And she didn't disappoint.
Look at her record. 4th in W14, 13th in W15. 3rd in W16. 13th in W17.
Good thing is next year is her good year. I expect her to be in the hunt for an Olympic medal.

Not sure why so many people think Daleman should be above Osmond. Osmond's program composition and artistry are leagues better than Daleman's. Moreover, Osmond racked up huge GOEs on most of her passes (that Lutz was gigantic!!!) while a lot of Daleman's later jumps and most of her non-jump elements maybe earned +1 at most.
We will never know, will we? I also appreciate Satoko's mental toughness and work ethic. And yes, she would have likely done well enough to keep 3 spots. But since she was injured I think the took the right decision. Who will challenge her next season from Japan to claim a spot from her? Let's say Mai Mihara. But it's two spots. So it's Mai and Satoko. Who else is there? Mao? With her reputation torn apart after this season and her chronic UR issues, I have doubt the federation would back her up. Marin? If we look at her record, she starts to skate well in the later half of the season. If she messes up the GP's, she won't be taken seriously at nationals (you have proof - she was very conservatively scored at nationals this season after mediocre JGP events). Sakamoto? She is inconsistent and does not have the PCS. Rika and Wakaba? I doubt it.
Well, it was relatively clean. The top 5 were all clean in their FS.
I'm outta here and ps. this site needs a serious upgrade to cope with the massive influx of ppl coming here to read and comment!![]()
Applying this pattern, we have 4 - 13 - 3 - 13 - so the next is 2. If Pogo wins silver medal at the Olympics it's fine with me
