2017 World Ladies SP

There is already a FS technical minimum all of these skaters had to earn before coming to this competition. This is also one of the facts to justify that more of them deserves to skate in the free.

Would like to see this, too. But rising technical level probably just means ISU will keep raising the TES minimum. :dev2:

Very important to "properly enjoy" the stakes for the lower ranked skaters: this is the WC before Olympics. What are the qualifying rules for the Olympics? Is it enough to get 1 spot for your country to make it to the FS? Or is it like in 2013, where finishing "about 15th" was enough? (plus around 6 additional slots to be earned at a "last chance qualifying event" like Nebelhorn Trophy)
Sorry if I'm missing the proper thread for this question...
Thanks! And wishing for all these lovely ladies to skate their cute butts off and be happy with their performance at the end of the day.

Nobody answered, but still, in case anyone is also interested in knowing, here's the info about qualifying for the Olympics.
It's like 4 years ago: 24 spots are earned here, so because of some countries earning more than 1 spot, the cutoff should be somewhere around 15th to get an Olympic spot here in Helsinki for ladies and men.
The last 6 spots will be earned in a later competition.

Mai. Wakaba. Nail biting.

what brouhaha?

Dropped from the list for Worlds, was a substitute. Cue scandal and drama. Back on the list, but didn't train for a while and yeah. Who knows how she will do, that must have been a disaster mentally, right before the competition.

This group is the first moment of truth for Japan's 3 spots in PyeongChang. I'm getting nervous :drama:

Aww... so nice of Mishin to give her the pep talk. *gulp*

You are here... ;P

I doubt anyone would live comment that early in the competition. I wish Ted Barton would do it for an ISU Streaming, but apparently it isn't important to ISU to expose the sport to the world these days.
Ted:love: I already miss his commentary..

I am not sure... I don't have Icenetwork. Anyone else? I would certainly think so?
I think the only time IN had a commentary was at the SA. I doubt they do in Helsinki but I certainly hope so....

A bit scratchy, but hopefully that'll score okay.

Edit: And unlike many people, I LOVE that music.

(Me, too. Princessroja. Caro makes everything worth and valuable with her gorgeous skating. It was not her best, but it will come at the Olympics! )

Okay warmup is over!
