2017 Worlds Men's SP

Omg, that interview with Mishin is a riot, the interviewer is flummoxed by Mishin's answers at times.

And on that note, I need to go pass out now. :bed:

Goodnight, everyone!

Dear Jason, please just skate with all the beauty I know you have...

Oh and Jason (can't believe I forgot Jason!) good luck to him too! I'm sure with him as the last skater the competition will end on a high note!

Now I really am going to bed!

I will never forget watching Misha in Dortmund 4/5 years go at the NRW Trophy.

Misha did 15 minutes warm up like literally right infront of me near the crowd stand, so many warm up stretches running up and down. Really friendly and approachable guy, smile at everybody, totally nice guy. He had a really fun experimental type of program back then that was totally refreshing and youthful. Even though he did not podium, but I remember being so impressed how adventurous it was, quite artistic at heart and playful. Importantly, memorable!

I hope Kolyada really affirms himself the firm #1 Russian here and shows his loss to Kovtun at Europeans was a bit of a fluke. I far prefer the beautiful and original skating of Kolyada to the sloppy and boring skating of Kovtun.

I hope Kolyada delivers, too. He is a far better skater than Kovtun is. But, I like Kovtun's short programs A LOT two years in a row.

I thought Misha Ge's performance was incredible! He puts such heart and expression into his performance. There are so many little things he does throughout the performance that gives it class and artistry. There is a calm beauty to his skating. No random arm flailing or frantic movements that don't coincide with the music. I guess 79 isn't terrible but I would have preferred to see the artistry bumped up a little.

Original? All of his programs are exactly the same...

Go Max!

Hanyu Spotted in the zone!! listening to something...

Looking at the group I do wonder if Canada has a shot to regain 3 spots. Chan isnt favored to medal here but a bronze isnt totally out of the question if he has one of his better outings and some of the favorites make mistakes. At worst he should come 5th, atleast I am hoping. Reynold could maybe come as high as 8th or 9th?? I think he has a chance of staying above anyone he is ahead of now and also has a chance of beating Kovtun, Brown, Bychenko, and Brezina. Maybe even Ten considering he is mad erratic, and could easily bomb.

It would be a tight but I think there is a chance they could pull it off. I imagine Canada would like to be able to send all 3 of Chan, Nguyen, and Reynolds to the Games if possible.
